16 Biggest Hits by Haggard, Merle (July 14, 1998)

I ordered four CDs recently. They were all very good. This one of Merle Haggard sounds like it could bea Demo. The Music & Lyrics are not up to par compared to original recordings (which I have on otherAlbums, Tapes, etc...Still I do play it since I enjoy listening to Merle...

Re-recordings, terrible, not what you remember

This has all the hits that I wanted I listen to this CD on a daily basis reminds me of the good old days. Are the good times really over for good?

Really dissappointed,,,I guess I should have read the other reviews first. I have been enjoying Merle Haggards music since the release of the Oakie from Muskogee release of vinyl. These recording just don't have the rich tones from the originals.

The old country boys are much than the ones of today. At least you can understand the words, Not just yelling. Loud id not better. I'll take old country any day. Country girl from the south. I have seen a lot of them in concert back in the 50's & 60's. Doesn't get any better.Still have my LP's.

Love this cd. Have songs I haven’t heard and most of my favs

Good but not great. Was not totally satisfied with this version of "I think I'll just Sit Here and Drink". Did not have the longer instrumental run which I love. The man can play a guitar!!
