This is a MUST have book for EVERY household!!!
Okay, I just had to post this here! First off....this book is like reading my life!!! LITERALLY!Since Jenny has been speaking, there are many who are mad because no one has heard them. There have been many surveys asking the question..."How does it make you feel seeing a celebrity talk about how they have helped their child when you can not afford to do the same for your own. I have fought with my opinions going back and forth regarding all the "celecbrities" being in the spotlight due to Autism.I do get pissed because it is aggravating to know that the thousands of "regular" moms can not be heard on our own....BUT....I do think that there are thousands of families that never knew there was another option for treatment...and though it does not work for all children, every child should have a chance to try those treatments...so if the "celebrity" brings attention to the issue and we can get the damn government to listen and pay for other treatments, then it is worth being aggravated!!!I still think that the "experts" should be listening to all of us "regular" moms. But I am happy that they have at least brought a bit more awareness to Autism! Some families had never even heard of these treatments! That is dumbfounding!!!So you see, these "celebrities" are helping the Autism community!!! They are letting others know that there are other treatment options. And while these options do not work on ALL kids.....if one child has a bit of recovery/improvement, isn't that what is important anyway???Also, the "celebrities" might make the road ahead a little less rocky as far as the government is concerned! Let's face it, vaccines are NEVER going to be safe! PERIOD!!! If they take the thimerasol out you still have TOXINS in them!!! (do you know what aluminum does to the body???)We need to focus our attention on trying to recover our children! And recovery does NOT mean cure!!! It means to help your child to live life to it's fullest! It is helping your child to not be sensory overloaded 24 hours a day! We need to MANDATE that the governement respect our treatment protocol and THEY need to cover the treatments!!! Therapy, suuplements, chelation, HBOT, etc . I personally am not in agreement with all of the treatments that I listed. But we all have different opinions on what treatment we would/will try for our children. And we are all entitled to do what is best for our individual child! There are so many people that have lost all of their material things just trying to follow this protocol. And others who simply can not afford to even start. And it is just wrong that we can not afford to treat our children. And my heart goes out to Jenny and the others that are bringing light to Autism and the other modes of treatment. If my son, Matthew Cody, loses his diagnosis due to recovering...he will ALWAYS have Autism!!! That is a part of him and I love him even more because of it!Matthew Cody is MY hero! He smiles and trudges forward every single day! And no matter how hard I try to understand how he feels on a day to day basis, I will never truly know.Sincerely,Tammy McNairP.S. To those that will read my review and say that I am not a doctor.....all I can say is I do not have a degree hanging on my wall, this is true. But I have been doing the biomedical ON MY OWN for over 18 months...and I assure you when I talk biomedical or about the risks associated with vaccines...I KNOW what I am talking about! :)

Great story
I have a 22 year old son with Aspergers. My grand daughter was recently diagnosed with autism too at the age of 4 and I'm pretty sure her younger brother is also on the spectrum as I watch him line up his cars and trucks repeatedly. I bought this to learn more as I know much more information has come out since my son's diagnosis when he was 8. The issue that was really significant for me was all the "gut" issues that Jennifer's her son had. I thought, .... OMG this is why so many kids are now being diagnosed? It explains 1 out of every 45 kids now on the spectrum. Processed foods, gluten products, etc., It really makes sense to me now. The additional candida issues made sense as well. The hard part is that these kids have so many food issues (smell, texture, etc.,) that finding something that they will actually eat is a challenge. You have to have incredible discipline to get them to eat really good food when everyone around them is eating crap! I wonder just how healthy baby formula is and .... what is in it???? I've just received Jenny's next book. I've also experienced similar situations with doctors that were idiots. I learned a great deal on my own. Discussion with my 22 year old about ABA indicates that it's not a good thing to take away something from an Aspie when they are having a melt down -- it only makes it worse. He explains that they are "wired differently" and that punishing a child when they are trying to cope makes the child feel like "they are wrong" not that the behavior is wrong. I know my son will help us to provide information and support for assisting his niece and nephew. Please question things when they don't make sense and ... trust your gut yourself! I've just purchased several other books so that I can gather as much information as I can to help my babies. This is highly recommended!

Great read despite the lies
This book is a real page-turner; I could hardly put it down. Here are the pros and cons:Pros: You can tell Jenny truly loves her son and would do anything for him. She was obviously a desperate mother who wanted answers, and she was told that autism could be cured through strict behavior therapy and diet. ("Clean out" the toxins from the vaccines, apparently.) A doctor told her that, another celebrity mother of an autistic child told her that, a special diet book for autistic kids told her that----what was she supposed to think? You can truly relate to how much she suffered and pulled herself through at the end.Cons: She might as well change her name to Jenny McContradicty. A week before her son was diagnosed with autism, she said herself that she "thanked God" her son was not autistic. That right there says that had her own precious little son never been diagnosed, she wouldn't have cared less about autism at all. (Furthermore, if autism isn't a bad thing, why did she go to such great lengths to "cure" him of it?) She claimed she "vowed to not make Evan a guinea pig" but that's EXACTLY-on-the-ball what she did!! (To put it mildly: Mormons, rosaries, holy water, mystics, behavior/speech therapists, strict diet restriction---you name it, she tried it, all to "cure" Evan's autism.)Bottom line: if you want an interesting, fast read, you will enjoy the book. You can definitely relate to at least one of her many hardships. (If anything, it will probably make you appreciate and love your own life more.) BUT obviously DON'T believe that autism is on the rise because of vaccines.
