From Impossible to Inevitable: How SaaS and Other Hyper-Growth Companies Create Predictable Revenue

Best book I've ever read.
Best book I've ever read. What I like most about this book is that it is so much different than any other business book I've read and the reason for that is the advice is from two people who have "been there done that". There's no advice in this book that Aaron or Jason haven't gone through themselves and seen success with. It goes through what it really takes to successfully build a fast growing SaaS company.Aaron doesn't provide advice that he hasn't implemented, this book isn't about a single topic on a certain part of growing a company, but the entire process. The sales accomplishments that Aaron achieved at Salesforce is outlined in detail based off his EXPERIENCES. Jason grew his company (and is still growing) and also shares his advice on what made things successful. But most of all I love how they outline not only the things you HAVE to do, but the MISTAKES they've made and how to avoid them. These two have put their collective knowledge of growing a business from zero to millions based on their real world experiences. This books lets you learn from their mistakes so you don't have to and their wins so you can get their faster. To really put it plainly, this book can help save your company millions of dollars. Seriously. Hire a bad VP Sales? Welp, their goes your Q1 and potentially worse. Price your product too low? Welp, you're missing out on millions potentially. Having a bad year? Yes that really happens but you're not the only one this happens to. This book covers the hard topics that you can really only learn from people who have "been there and done that". Aaron and Jason are true examples of those that have struggled, won, and put their collective experiences together in one book that basically is the new bible for SaaS companies to grow in my opinion.

Loads of learning
For an early stage founder and new to the game of sales and growth, this book shares a few key insights and perspectives on inbound and outbound sales. Well, few techniques are a bit dated but still the core elements are helpful to understand apples from oranges. Definitely a good read.

The Second Editions is Really Good
Several years back, Aaron Ross combined some of the best SaaStr content with great new content and case studies into our book, Impossible to Inevitable. So far it has sold over 70,000 copies. But some of it did need an update. Some of the case studies need some fresh names, and we needed to add a bit more of the science and technology from the past few years in sales and marketing to the content.Aaron’s team has updated it and it is great!!Some of the great new sections include:Case Study: How Twilio Nailed A Billion-Dollar Niche By Walking In Its Customers’ ShoesCase Study: How Sagemount Triples The Value Of A Company In Three YearsThree Uncommon Approaches Of Hypergrowth CMOsHow Inbound Changed In 10 Years Between Scaling Marketo To $100m+ And Founding EngagioCase Study: How Zuora Drives 60%-Plus Of Its Growth By Outbound, Even When Accounts Need Nurturing For YearsBuild An Outbound Program Right The First TimeHave You Been Too Successful At Inbound? If You’re A Startup: Four Phases Of Hiring Your First Sales TeamThree Ways To Cut Churn And Increase Sales Motivation While You ScaleIf you haven’t read the 1st edition, it is really a great read. Read it. If you read the 1st edition, it may still be worth reading the 2nd. It’s a pretty deep update.

Readers of the 1st Edition - if you're on the fence, go for it!
Like most others out there, I have the first edition which I've read a couple of times and found very useful. I was on the fence, not knowing whether the 2nd edition would be worth it. I went thru the Amazon free preview of the hardcover book, focusing on the additions, and recommend you do it too.As you will find, just 2 of the new sections - the Sagemount case study (and the deck that's referenced there) as well as the uncommon approaches of hypergrowth CMOs - are alone worth the price of admission.Instant purchase on Kindle and couldn't be happier! (hardcover book won't come out until July)

Starts good, ends slow
The book is interesting , however very focused on saas and large companies. I would have preferred if it had more information relevant to smaller teams or non internet business. Almost all the case studies in the book are from 10 million dollar ++ companies, not the most common scenario for most people. The last chapters are about employee and owner motivation which I found not necessary, it's a nice to have but not related to b2b prospecting. It felt like the writers didn't have anything else to say and had to fill a word count.Another thing I didn't like is that the authors promote their own consulting business through the book.

Hidden Gem for Hiring Advice
This book covers a wide range of topics and provides a ton of value.I especially enjoyed the parts about hiring. I mean, the description says "discover what every revenue leader needs to know about building a scalable sales team," but I didn't expect such detail!Recruiting, Marketing, Sales + Ops, Metrics & KPIs, what? Amazing. No reason not to purchase this book. I purchased the Audible version initially, and just purchased the Kindle version for easy reference. For less than $50 combined, it's a no-brainer.

Excellent read
Casual and easy to read, but chock full of wisdom. Possibly oversimplifies things but that doesn’t mean the core ideas are wrong

Thanks Mr Ross
I learned so much about business and marketing and sales as an amateur just getting started. I don't know where to start and say thank you, one thing that sticks out the most to me is Nail a nich it goes deeper than all the other people I have read that talked about niches, yours is like keep looking at your product to see what other potential it has to find a nich within a nich. I'm so thankful for this book I can go on an on, THANKS.
