Through A Cat's Ear: Music For Calming Vol.1

We bought an additional CD version of Through a Cat's Ear(we lost the last CD after grieving for our cat,Tommy, and can't seem to find it)to continue to help our 2 older cats grieve the loss of their kitty brother, Tommy, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 24, 2019 and to also help the older cats bond with their new kitten brother, Frankie who we adopted in the Fall 2019. The 1st copy of the CD we played in our living room during the day,to help our Tommy relax and sleep and sometimes his 2 brothers, Indy and Riley, would cuddle him and they would sleep together. The music is all instrumental: it has all soothing piano tracks. Some tracks are by Chopin, Brahms, Bach, Tchaikovsky Schubert,etc. Other times, I would play the CD and hold Tommy and we would fall asleep together. After Tommy had crossed the Rainbow Bridge, my husband and I played the CD for Riley and Indy in our bedroom so they could cuddle together with us and grieve. We then moved the music back to the living room so we could play with them and think of Tommy. All the cats seem to relax as the music plays. Indy and Riley will even play toys together too. I started playing the new copy of Through a Cats Ear that I received this morning 1/20/20 for all 3 of our Kitties: Frankie(9months), Riley(5yrs)and Indy(12yrs). Our kitten, Frankie, is sitting right near our stereo looking at the speaker as the music plays. Indy and Riley are curled up in their beds relaxing and the CD is now playing track#3. I believe that our 2 older cats enjoy and relax to the music because they have heard it before. Frankie is still trying to figure the music out. The 3 cats have bonded over the past 5 months so I think this music will help them relax and play more together. Thank you for fast shipping and great product!

I bought this for my daughter's cat, as we had to take her on a 6-hour drive so I could take care of her over the holidays. I had read the reviews before buying, and realized that this would work for some cats and not for others. We used everything we could for the trip -- this CD, a kitty Thundershirt, anti-anxiety pills from the vet and pheromone spray for calming. The combination worked! Nothing short of a miracle, as this cat has been known to scream/howl/meow for 6 hours nonstop. By hour two, she was exploring the car, and by hour four she was laying down on top of blankets. The music is calm classical, easy to listen to, but if you get sleepy listening to this kind of music you should chew gum and have plenty of caffeine! I have no clue if this will work for your kitty, but if you've tried everything else, it might be worth a try. Good luck!

I was skeptical about whether this would work or not, so I opted to buy this CD from one of the Sellers who had it marked down.I can absolutely say for sure that I haven't had any bad reactions from it! I work from home and my boys & I like it quiet around here. Unfortunately, the outside noise can be a little bothersome so I was pleasantly surprised at how soft and calming the CD is. So far, the boys nap through all the songs, so I guess that's a good thing! The music seems to have a calming effect on me, and since our kitties pick up on our stress, I'm going to say this CD is a winner! The Seller's site said the cover jacket might be a little damaged, but mine arrived on time and in perfect condition. I'm going to get some other Volumes and give them a try!

I love this product. Bought it when my cat had surgery because she stresses in regard to anything with the Vet. I was not sure it would help since she usually does not stay in the same room when is a TV or music playing. The evening she came home from surgery she immediately disappeared into her favorite hiding place. To my surprise she not only appeared but she stayed quietly listening for the entire CD when I played it. I ended up replaying it several times the evening she came home and day after surgery. It seemed to calm her. It is also calming for humans.

I admit I was embarrassed to buy a CD to calm my cats down. But, given we were having our roof replaced and my two indoor cats would do anything to avoid getting into their carriers or the car, it was a desperate situation.I was so pleased by their reaction to the music! Both were immediately interested, checked out the disc player, then settled down into happy naps. (It even made me a little sleepy!) It couldn't cover every bit noise but it definitely helped.I was very happy to have found it!

I have high hopes for this product. Sadly, the case was cracked when I received it.

I am an animal communicator & energy healer. I work remotely w/ my animal cases. Last night, I worked w/ a terminal cat whose healing team prepared it for a peaceful & easy death. Early this am, same protocol including play this CD. Cat crossed the rainbow bridge w/ the vet's help.Owner felt calmer this am & will be told she heard remotely the CD played for her cat from the telepathic bond. That was why I ordered this CD to aid my work. A holistic vet told me about the CDs from attending a vet conference.

I like the concept and the melodies are OK but the CD has very poor sound quality. The music sounds muffled or muddy, like the sound is coming from another room far away. It's not crisp and clear like a piano should sound. Haven't noticed any effect on the kitties but it may be too early to tell. Returning it due to the poor sound quality.

It's great soothing music. Just wish there were more than 16 songs on it.

Very relaxing music, good to have on in the background. I was sceptical as to how much notice my cats would take of the CD but as a classical music lover, I thought I'd give it a go and I would enjoy the tracks even if they didn't. Within a couple of minutes of the first play of the CD, four of the cats were clustered close to the speaker. They really did seem to absorb and appreciate the music. They didn't remain there for the entire play of the CD but certainly seemed calmer. I even had the vacuum cleaner out while the CD was on and this didn't result in the usual rush of cats to hide under the bed! If you like gentle, classical music, give the CD a go. You'll enjoy it even if your cats aren't sure!

I have had this cd a while now so must write a review as it is so appreciated - by the cat and her human! It is so calming, the music is beautiful and today on a wet autumn day it is lovely to chill to, cat on knee so relaxed, and me too. The sound quality is excellent and all in all the best CD I possess. Thank you.

So far it is still too early to tell if it's had an effect. But the music is enjoyable even for a human. However I have seen her ears react to this music so it should be a matter of the cat getting used to it playing, which is good cause I often go away for Christmas to see family and got this for anxiety issues. If you're cat is like mine then I would be patient and watch her body language. A relaxed cat should have thin slitted pupils, tail in a "?" shape and not afraid to show her belly. Of course all cats are unique but this CD is defiantly worth a buy if you got stressful events about to happen, particularly around the holiday season.
