SolidGoldFX Surf Rider III Reverb The Surf Rider III is an updated and expanded variation of our classic Surf Rider reverb designed to deliver an incredible array of warm, lush, 3-dimensional reverb tones in one compact pedal. The Surf Rider IIIs rich feature makes it easy to dial in the perfect shade of verb. Using the Decay and Resonance controls, the length and decay of the reverb signal can be fine-tuned to simulate the sounds of small rooms, gated verbs, dense ambient washes and of course, classic amp and surf sounds. The depth and level controls give end users full access to the overall intensity and output of the pedal while the tone knob allows for fine adjustment of the reverb timbre making it easy to pair with any rig. A foot-switchable reverb level boost adds an additional reverb voicing while an expression pedal input offers on the fly Depth adjustments giving users the ability to create crashing tidal waves of sound. Whether you are looking for a highly musical traditional reverb or a more over the top saturated sound the new Surf Rider III is sure to please. SolidGoldFX Surf Rider III Reverb Features: Tone: Turning this knob to the left will make the reverb darker while turning to the right will make the reverb brighter. Res: This 3 position switch controls the resonance of the reverb signal by way of negative feedback. With the switch in the center position, the resonance circuit is bypassed. An internal trimpot allows you to dial in the low setting (down position) while the high setting (up position) is fixed. Decay: This knob controls the decay time of the reverb

Let me lead with this. It's well known and generally accepted that a traditional reverb tank from Fender or the like will carry a much warmer "musical tone" than the pedal or compact equivalent. Given a choice between the the two I will go to the tank every time. It's the old solid state versus tube amp argument. As a rule most follow, if you want a deep, warm, organic or "living" sound the tank is the way to go. If it's going to be buried beneath a chain of other sound and effects, a little digital spring unit will work just fine. The Surf Rider has been an absolute exception to the rule. I purchased this pedal to bridge the gap between my "couch rig" and my "gig rig". I have a beautiful vintage tank that sits as the foundation of my stage gear, I basically pieced my setup together around that tank. My "couch rig" consists of a beat up old tweed blues deluxe which obviously lacks onboard reverb.I've played around with plenty of reverb pedals over the years that have worked great. The Fender 63' reverb pedal is a personal favorite as well as the EH Cathedral. But with the exception of the Cathedral, none of them had much in the way of tone shaping. They all pretty much felt like an imitation, sterile in a way. After about 5 minutes setting the Surf Rider I could tell that they had managed to replicate those famous tank sounds without sacrificing any depth or warmth. I wasn't getting a compressed or noisy signal and I was able to gets rich dark sounds out of this thing as if I were playing at absurd volumes. There is a clear audible difference when you A/B the tank and pedal, but both are stylistically different and have their own specific tone. Like I said its he exception to the rule. Instead of tryin to emulate that tank sound they worked within the limits of a pedal to create an entirely exclusive range of sound. It's a brilliant piece of gear.

Best reverb pedal ever.
Amazing, I have many reverb pedals, they all pretty much sound the same question, so I was hesitant on buying this one, but I'm easy, so I did and I'm glad, hard to explain, but it has an incredible sound, all I can say is buy one, you can always send it back, but you won't, I promise.

but I love this one
I'm not big on pedals, but I love this one. I've got a Bugera tube amp with no reverb, and it really adds depth and fullness to the sound. The controls are really effective in tweaking the sound to fit your application, particularly if you like surf or rockabilly. I like this combo so much I sold my Fender Deluxe Reverb.
