Works Great
I had the plastic version of this solder sucker I got from Radio Shack. It lasted twenty years in my hobby shop! This is exactly the same design, but in aluminum. The quality seems good and it works great. Worth the extra money for the aluminum one in my opinion, even though the plastic one lasted a long time for me.

Durablly well built and has great suction without melting the tip.
I am surprised I found this. I had one from years and years ago, and after much use I managed to break the tip off. But If found this one on Amazaon, a direct exact replacement. I have used it on wires, circuit boards, component removal, etc. It works great without having to have an electric powered one and often don't even need to use a wicking or dewicking tool to get any excess off. Hold the tip very close, even on what you have soldered (melted) and hit the button, the force of suction extracts all the solder. double click it to project the waste solder back out the tip, or unscrew the tip to let the excess solder to drop out.

Reasonably good Desoldering Pump but replacement tips are CRAZY EXPENSIVE!
The desoldering pump worked reasonably well. I worked on 2 small circuit boards for the purposes of salvaging parts and adding them to my inventory. The only real issue I had was with the pump's tip. I had to get the board's solder points pretty hot and sometimes hold the soldering iron on the solder point while sucking out the solder with the pump. Needles to say, the heat started to deform the pump' s tip. This reduced the effectiveness of the pump (as the tip deformed). And replacement pump tips are OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE for this desoldering pump.

I like the metal construction
I prefer to use this pump when I only have a small number of pads to desolder. I like the metal construction. The button is easy to operate with one hand. It has worked well sucking solder off PCBs. This is becoming my tool of choice when working on new projects. I also have a cheap desoldering station and a nice Hakko gun. However, my new projects may have one bridge or one part in the wrong spot. It really isn't worth it to fire up the heavy duty desoldering equipment for one or two quick fixes. I always have wick on hand, but I find the Weller pump very hand to have around too. It has worked well on through hole components. This would be a nice second choice if a more expensive desoldering station is out of your budget. It has held up well for several months now.

This thing really sucks!
Probably one of my favorite solder suckers I’ve used. Does tend to get jammed up a bit more often the I’d like, but cleaning it isn’t an issue to me. I just want it to work when I need it, and it does. Works great for removing solder from small through holes.

This thing really sucks.
In a good way! Great quality tool and one handed operation. It has sufficient suction the first time to make those reworks easier. Construction feels solid. I expect this one to last a long time.
