Fun short read
Book arrived early and in acceptable condition. The book itself is thin as the KHX novel so there aren’t many illustrations. The novel adds Fragmentary Passage as its own chapter before Riku and Mickey go search for her, which was nice. Other than that, it follows the game and emphasizes several things in case you missed it when you watched the cut scenes. For example, Sora's dependence on his friends and that his heart is what is guiding him to all the worlds. As for helping you understand what was going on, I HIGHLY suggest first having an okay understanding of DDD and KHX. In particular: the twewy gang’s situation, “darkness holds...dreams hold your memories”, the dream sequence with ymx, and ava’s explanation of the new world.Overall, I recommend the novel to anyone who is seriously trying to understand the story.

Another lovely adaption!
I was very excited to discover that there was an adaption of these brilliant video games as novels, complete with colour and black and white pictures by Shiro Amano too and have not been disappointed with any of them!My only sticking point with this one is it is pretty short at only 155 pages!! So it doesn't take long to read, but oh well, I'm sure they'll be another coming out soon!So this novel follows directly after the events of KH Dream Drop Distance and follows Sora, Donald, Goofy trying to gather seven guardians of light to stand against Xehanort (The main antagonist who is threatening to cover all the Disney worlds in darkness) and his thirteen darknesses. In this first novel, Sora and co are travelling through Disney worlds such as Toy Box (For Toy Story) and old favourites like Twilight Town (A pretty important place for several members of Kingdom Hearts) to try and recover Sora's powers, while Riku and Mickey hunt for one of their seven guardians in the realm of darkness.Handily, this book also covers the bit where Aqua saves Riku (way back in the first KH video game where he is helping Mickey to close the Door to Light-- although we don't actually see it in the first game, but in the Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Fragmentary Passage from Birth By Sleep) by sacrificing herself to the darkness, which is a nice addition for those (like me!) who never actually saw that bit!Overall, another great book, with a pretty spot on translation and has some lovely bits of inner dialogue from Sora, Riku, Kairi and Axel, which I think is another lovely edition for the books, as it's something you don't ever get to here in the video games! :)
