These boots ARE made for walking! And walking, and walking...
I noticed my feet were a little bigger than an 8.5 these days (my old hiking boots were hurting my toes), so I bought these boots in a size 9 hoping they would work out. My wildest hopes were realized on a recent trip to Montana and Wyoming. I hiked easily 20-25 miles over my 8 day trip to various parks in MT and WY. The boots were VERY comfortable and even helped me stabilize my foot/ankle while recovering from an injury I sustained right before my trip. I LOVE the color and the Vibram sole held up great, and gave me confidence when climbing on unsteady ground. Totally love these boots!

My new favorite hike wear!!!
Love love love! Wore them for 3 mile hike day 1 no blisters. Perfect balance of ankle support and flexibility. Not too heavy and pretty darn comfortable for being brand new. Love the way the sole rocks a tad from toe to heel. It keeps me more stable. I’m a 6 1/2 and that’s what I ordered. Plenty of room for good cushioned socks.

I sized up for the right fit 👍🥾🥾
The media could not be loaded. After a week of shopping online for a pair of boots 🥾🥾, I went with these. I wear a size 9. Sometimes I can wear a 8.5. It just depends on the shoe. I'm a Hoka walking shoe fan. I like the Koka brand because they are heel to toe walking shoes. I can't wear shoes that cause my toes to shoot to the toe of the shoe as I walk. I read reviews that these have a slight heel on them. Yes, they do have a heel. They did exactly what I hoped for. They walk heel to toe. So walking heel to toe is good for me. Amazon suggested I size up to a 10 based on reviews of these boots running smaller. I did order the 10. I'm glad I did. The boots fit perfectly. I took an old pair of my Hoka inner soles and added them to the inside of the boots just for extra cushion. They fit good. 👍 They're made well. So many brands are running smaller due to being made in so many different countries. It's really hard to know what will fit anymore. If it weren't for the fact of the suggestion to size up I would be spending time doing so many returns. Thankfully I took the advice.👍Update: 5/12/2025I wore these in Alaska and they were so comfortable. I'm so happy I bought them. 👍 I didn't even have to worry about breaking them in. They kept my feet warm and dry. They have good support.

Good for the Price
I have had a pair of Merrells before and loved them until they literally fell apart. Sadly that style is no longer made and these came at a great price so I went for it.At first I hated the inserts that came with the shoe, so I swapped them out for my old ones. After that they were pretty good. They are not waterproof but have good traction on slippery rocks and trails.Overall a good shoe and I would recommend, I would just be ready to find a better pair of inserts if you’re picky like me.

Switch the footbed and these are amazing!
I tried so many boots including Merrill's and hated the foot-bed but like everything else about them. It finally occurred to me to try another foot-bed so I took the beds out of my Ariat hiking boots and they worked perfect. I wore them one day to break them in and then hiked Yosemite Half-Dome cables with them. (17 miles with a section of slick granite) I was worried about grip but these held extremely well AND I didn't get one blister. I bought my normal size (size 8) and while I could have worn a 7.5, hiking down hill would have been tough on my toes. I wore a normal boot-sock and my feet stayed dry and comfortable.

No break in necessary
I wear boots twelve hours a day for work as a park ranger and that includes plenty of hiking and patrolling parking lots. I couldn't ask for much of a better boot for the price. They hold the heel snug but have a very ample toe box for thick socks. Very good arch support but could be a little better cushioned in the ball of the foot area. The shoe laces needed some creative tying as they are very long, so if you need to tie them a certain way there's a lot to work with. They didn't need any break in at all. They feel the same after three weeks of shifts with several four mile hikes. The price seems to move around a lot so watch for it when it gets cheapest. I paid about $75 when I bought them in December 22.
