Best puzzle I've purchased in a decade
My CAG loves to search for treats. He has 2 that are 17 years old that provide the mental stimulation and fun that he can either take treat through a maze to retrieve or unlock to get treat. Other puzzles he either never like or they broke quickly. Ran across this one by accident. It had been awhile since I had something catch my eye. i ordered this and it arrived quickly. The first week or so he showed little interest. Not unusual with anything new in cage. The second week I realized he didn't know there were treats inside. Threw out the old almonds in their shells, replaced with 2 fresh ones and this time I left the top slightly open so he could see what was inside but not get it without unscrewing the bolts. He worked on it a great deal of time the first day to finally get his prize. This is his favorite puzzle now. Now he has 3 puzzles to keep him occupied. After figuring it out the first time it doesn't take him long now but he does feel so proud when he pulls the treat out. Dumb luck I found this but very happy I did. Worth every penny to see his enjoyment. Sturdy too. This won't end up in bottom of cage in pieces. if you have a chewer that is destructive safe bet they can't tear this up.

Busy Bird = Happy Bird!
Our Harlequin Macaw LOVES this toy! It’s just difficult enough to provide plenty of entertainment, but not too difficult that he loses interest. It’s the perfect size to fit a couple of his favorite treats for incentive. He DESTROYS all of his other toys, but, so far, this is holding up well! Will try to update if it doesn’t hold up after a while.

Great Foraging Toy
One of my Cockatoos is particularly mechanical so I thought I would try this for her. It took her a while to figure things out and even when she got the hang of it , it keeps her busy unscrewing and screwing the bolts . I bought one for my other Cockatoo and she's only interested in shredding wood lol. If you have a Cockatoo who loves to be busy and is mechanical this is a great investment

Well made, entertaining for your bird, and a bit of a pain to fill.
I love this product, but wouldn't buy it again. If hung in the cage, it is very difficult to maneuver so that it can be filled. Not impossible, just a pain in the behind. I wish there was a way to disconnect it from the cage that is bird-proof...

Sharp Edges Could Be Dangerous
I was excited to get these for my Cockatoo because they looked really interesting and he needs things to entertain him. They are really well constructed but the metal edges are razor sharp and I think they have the potential to injure him. It is a shame because they are really cool but I won’t risk it. If the company would polish the edges these would be great.

Careful! These toys will make your birds smarter...
I have tried many a forage toy with my macaw, and I have found almost all of them wanting... most forage toys are either too small, too fragile, or too simple to really work with such a big beak. Saw these tough-looking toys and bought an assortment to see what my girl would think of them -- this barrel was one.It didn't take long for her to warm up to it. It's colorful enough to catch her attention, noisy enough to be fun to rattle, and big enough to easily contain a full walnut in the shell. I was concerned that the edges might be sharp, but she has been totally fine. If anything, her beak is looking especially polished from trying to reach inside to get at whatever goodies I've stashed. Her attempts to destroy it have been totally in vain -- the barrel has held up in the face of her most violent assaults without a scratch, all wingnuts attached. But fair warning... just a few weeks with these babies and my macaw is unscrewing perches, food bowls, and anything else she can loosen with her big beak! She's learned disassembly, problem-solving, and worst of all... persistence. I'm not sure how much longer I can contain her growing brilliance, and I fully blame these toys. I'll probably have to get more of them, just to try to delay her inevitable attempt at world domination. Buyer beware!

Not her favorite
For whatever reason my sulfur created cockatoo isn’t into this one. She has the square version and loves it. She has little to no interest in this one

Great investment
My macaws live playing with it for hours.

Sharp edges
It is great for large parrots but we had a freak accident and needed to take a parrot to the vet, for surgery and amputation of his toe and 4 stiches.Sharp edges

Fab item
Brought this for my one boy who likes to unscrew every screw he can find to distract him and hide treats inside. He has currently been playing with it for the last 2 hours as seems to be his new favourite toy. As he is a plucker I'm hoping it will also distract him for that.
