RIP OFF
I have never paid $18.00 for a 1 pound skein of yarn. It says (4) ... very misleading and will never buy from again! 1 pound of yard is never worth $18! Normally, a pound is about $6.00. WOW ... rip off! I could see if it's a popular color or in demand, which is neither. My mistake for not reading it properly, hopefully someone else will learn by my mistake!!

skein contained cuts and knots
I ordered 4 skeins, the first I discovered after utilizing half had cuts every other wrap of the skein, plus knots in the long strand. I was too far along to pull and try another skein, so I kept going using my skills to make corrections. The subsequent used skein is fine.

I liked that it wasn’t hard to start
I liked that it wasn’t hard to start. When I pulled on the inner piece of yarn the middle part came out and wasn’t tangled. The skein was easy to work with. I have tried other yarns but Caron’s is the best. I made 4 large blankets. I soaked the blanket when done in water with hair conditioner for an hour .Doesn’t have to be expensive . Found on the internet. Washed on gentle cycle and dried on low.

The color I recieved was lighter like a shade of lavender
I am very unhappy with this yarn. The first time I used it was over a year ago, and I had no intention of using it again. Though I am a Red Heart loyalist, they did not have the color combo that I was searching for, but Caron did. Or so it appeared that way. The purple that is advertised is very dark, the shade of purple I need. The color I recieved was lighter like a shade of lavender. So, I bought a pound of yarn that will not be used, at least for a while, and have to start my search all over again for the right shade of purple for my project. You are probably wondering, "Why don't you just send it back?" That is an excellent question that has an excellent answer... I am a yarn hoarder. I cannot in good conscience part with yarn once it is in my possession. I am just really aggravated over the setback.

Keep it simple
I've used Caron One Pound for a variety of crochet projects. I found that the success of the project depended on the types of stitches and the size crochet hook used. The tighter more complex the stitch, the stiffer and coarser this yarn feels. The simpler and looser the stitch, the softer it feels and the better the drape to it. Even though it's a worsted weight yarn which calls for a US H/8 (5mm) hook, I've use 8mm, 10mm and 12mm hooks for some items. Of course it's important to follow the gauge you're working with for most clothing or the size will be way off. But for some shawls and scarves where gauge is less important and you want the garment to drape well, like the pocket shawl pictured, the larger hook works surprisingly well with this yarn. I used one skein on this project that is basically 15"x 60". This yarn can be pricey on amazon. $10 or $12 for it is reasonable which is what I paid for it. $22 is not.

Amount of yarn differs.
I bought this in blue and black to crochet a double threaded rug. It's working well, I do like this yarn, but I discovered there is lots of blue left over. This is the second time I have experienced this using the one pound skeins. As much as I use this yarn and do enjoy it for my projects that need to be a bit on the tough side, I can't give it more that 3 stars for not being more accurate in the amount of yarn each skein contains.

Great yarn
Used this brand of yarn for a latch hook rug a while back, excellent quality. Texture is great, not too soft or silky (durability issues) and not too hard (roughness issues). Also the price is excellent.

Stiffer Yarn But Washes Beautifully
I've purchased One Pound Yarn many, many times before but they must have changed it as the Dark Grey Mix that I purchased was very stiff. It made for a very inflexible scarf, even after I washed it. However, it was PERFECT for the small tote bag that I crocheted to match the scarf (both of which I was able to make from the single skein). So, if you're looking for a substantial yarn for a heavy wear project like a tote bag or a rug this is perfect, but if you want it for a hat or scarf it's rather inflexible. The yarn, no matter the project, washes up beautifully in the washing machine and dried perfectly in the dryer.

I love this yarn - I find it the very best ...
I love this yarn - I find it the very best for crocheting toy animals of which I make plenty - just want to mention that it is a bit misleading to state it comes in pack of two - I realise the answer looking at the description of the product that that there is twice as much weight in grams! ! Making two balls in one! ! But when I first ordered this yarn I too like a few 'Reviewers' thought I would get 'two One Pound balls' and therefore a 'good bargain offer'. I would also point out that it is cheaper in the Uk at the moment something I did not realise until I placed my last order - so please either change the wording or give us 'two balls ' in the pack as stated. Good yarn though !

Wowwww
This is very strong thick yarn and chrochets up quickly. It seems strong enough to make a bedroom rug. I have used 3.5 Skeins to make the single bed throw. I'm extremely happy with it and won't hesitate to buy again.
