Reasonably happy with it post install, pretty difficult to install
I reviewed several different higher end dog doors before selecting this one. The videos provided by endura-flap made the install process seem fairly straightforward, but it turns out there are many install steps that were not well-described. Overall, I am happy with the dog door now that it is installed, but I would have expected a lot more polish in the install for something that was $300+. In general, I did appreciate the video instructions, though they were a bit lacking with regards to how to handle various exterior features. They did not provide instructions on how to mount this with (uneven) exterior siding, so I ended up having to patiently cut a little at a time.As someone who isn't particularly handy, I wasn't totally comfortable with the whole install process, but I found it was very important to make sure you have all the tools they recommend. Having never tried to cut a hole this big in a wall (exterior or interior), it was also important to check that there is no electrical/plumbing/studs in the way before ordering.I luckily did not have to cut the sheet metal wall inserts as my wall was ~8" thick, but I found that the recommendations on cutting the bolts down to size was not very accurate. I played it safe and just cut them a little at a time, but I think it would have been much nicer if they just included some extra bolts of different lengths. Also, they have captive nuts in the door frames that attach to the bolt and I found the bolts impossible to install with 1 person, and very difficult still with 2 people. During the install a few of the captive nuts popped off, and I couldn't find them, but Endura flap sent replacements fairly quickly, which was appreciated. However, I couldn't help but think there was so many better ways to have the bolt "catch" the hole than what they did.

Flustercluck installation requires more tools/skills/patience than you likely have.
Good:Even the single flap appears to insulate very well.Bad:Flange is too small. You better have a perfectly cut hole, because the flange barely protrudes to cover your rough cut. It’s gonna be tough to cut a perfect hole when the template is the wrong size. Good luck.Hardware is trash, absolutely worthless trash that will strip if you look at it too hard.Minimal tolerance. I suggest ignoring some steps of the instructions and instead make sure to bend the tunnel tabs one at a time and carefully install on both the interior and exterior frame at the same time to make sure it fits. Then disassemble and follow instructions. Otherwise you may end up needing to hammer and pry your newly purchased $400+ dollar dog door in order to persuade it to fit around the exterior frame.

Thrilled with the Quality!
Wow! We’re absolutely thrilled with our new Endura Flap doggy door! Our previous one paled in comparison to the quality and energy-efficiency of this door. Despite replacing the flap on our old door countless times, we still had so many problems with it leaking, bowing, cracking, sagging, separating from the frame and actually blowing open in the wind that our kitchen and breakfast rooms were always cold and drafty in winter. We finally decided it was time to pitch it and purchase a new one. I researched many doors before deciding on the Endura Flap but I was reluctant to purchase it due to the higher price tag compared with some other brands, including the one we used to have; however, I’m so glad I did as the Endura door is worth every penny. This door is amazing! Even though we have the single flap version, the seal is airtight because there are magnets along all three sides of the flap. Unlike our old doggy door, this one doesn’t leak nor did it blow open in the 30 mph wind gusts we recently experienced -- and it actually looks pretty good in the wall, too (though I do need to do some touch-up painting outside the frame). Because we read other reviews that cited some difficulty with the installation, we chose to have it professionally installed. The door was placed in the wall of our laundry room that leads out to our screened-in porch and I think the install took about two hours. Training our pup to use the door took a bit longer...about two or three days. It does require some force to break the tight magnetic seal and at first the heft of it seemed to intimidate our 32-lb pup, but now that she's trained, she breezes through the flap like its made of butter. It does make a loud clicking sound but I like that she can't sneak out of the house without my knowledge. Doggy treats were included with the door which was a nice training touch but since our pup is more play-motivated, I trained her by dangling her leash in front of the flap. She’s crazy for her walks so she bounded right through the door. All-in-all, we’re pleased to have finally found a low maintenance, energy-efficient doggy door.
