Great for a breastfeeding child that goes to daycare
I had so much trouble with my first child 6 years ago not wanting to take the bottle at daycare and basically starving himself that I finally gave up and left my job to stay home with him. I ended up nursing for a full year with him and went straight to a sippy cup with a straw. With my 10 week old, staying home again is not an option so I made sure to start him on the bottle at least once a day to get used to it. When I had a home daycare, I had one little girl that used the Avent wide-mouth bottles, but I noticed they often leaked around the base of the nipple or white ring so I knew I didn't want to use those. I got a Dr. Brown's newborn starter pack as a shower gift and used those, but they were the thinner model with the thin nipple and he dribbled out so much milk it would soak a bib each feeding. I switched to the wide-mouth bottles and he takes these much better, no dribble. He was very colicky up until about a week ago, and I've heard these bottles are great for preventing sucking air/gas, so we'll see how he does. I like these very much, lots of parts to clean, but I use the Dapple brand soap from babies r us and hot water to soak all the parts for a few hours and then use the bottle brush, rinse, and sterlize. I wouldn't recommend putting them in the dishwasher unless they are the only things in there and use a special dishwasher soap safe for babies. The nipples will get discolored and stained if you have dirty dishes in there with them (like spaghetti sauce).

Instant relief - Heaven sent
Amazing bottles. I purchased three wide neck bottles for my daughter who was struggling with her newborn. He has a tongue tie which made not only breast feeding but also bottle feeding a huge struggle. He fought the breast and teat constantly and made huge sucking noises resulting in a tummy full of air. He took to these bottles immediately. The longer teat seemed to help and the venting system is simply magic. We live in Australia and they are quite expensive, hence the three bottle trial. Within a day of using these bottles we placed an online order with Amazon and can't wait for the delivery to arrive. They were less than one third of the price we pay in Australia, even including the postage. I included travel caps, stage 2 teats and microwave sterilizing bags in the order to get more bang for my delivery dollar. We don't find the extra parts a problem at all and have had no problems with leaks. There is always a mountain of washing up and washing involved with a baby anyway. The secret seems to be to heat up the water only without a lid of any kind. We then add the formula to the warm water and stir with a sterilized feeding spoon. Add the venting system and teat and you are good to go. These bottles are an absolute must for all newborns. Why struggle with tummy aches at all. I will be buying Dr Browns as a gift for all new mums I know prior to the birth of their bubs.

GREAT BOTTLE
We have used these bottles since my daughter was first born at the babysitter's and a couple times a week at home. She always took to them pretty well even though she is primarily a breastfed baby. We started to have problems with leaking once we started switching her to whole milk and using more frequently. I contacted Customer Support and they were extremely helpful. We were actually causing the leaking by over-tightening while putting it together. We now stop tightening as soon as we feel the first resistance. We also had problems with her drinking some and then putting it away. This problem is solved by loosening the cap and then tightening it slightly (this relieves the pressure from her sucking). Other reviewers have complained about leaking when heating. We didn't have this problem as we didn't install the vent until after heating (as the directions state). While Dr. Brown's may be a little more complicated for cleaning and to prevent leaking than some other bottles, they are well worth it The extra cleaning is actually very minimal. More importantly my daughter hasn't had any problems with gas or upset stomach.

Love the ORIGINAL Wide Neck Bottles
I didn't know Dr. Brown's was still making the ORIGINAL Wide Neck (blue parts and this style nipple) bottles as our daughter did not like to NEW wide neck version (green parts) but liked the standard size so I was so glad I found these on Amazon. We used these with our 1st child and worked the best. I found leaking occured by user error these are great bottles and will purchase more. FYI -- I saw the reviews that said these are counterfeit because bottles said made in China but I checked all the new ones we've purchased at Target in 2020/2021 MULTIPLE SETS all Standard and Options + (pink edition) bottles and nipples say made in China but the ONE that I received as a replacement from Dr. Brown's directly (blue/green options +) bottle says USA and nipple says Germany.

Can’t put these in a bottle warmer
These bottles are great! Baby never gets gassy from these and latches perfectly every time. The only negative thing is that you can’t put these in a bottle warmer. They will leak. So sending him to daycare with these is a no go which is a huge negative because these bottles really help a lot with his colic.

Love these! Just wish they could connect to my pump.
These bottles are great! I do wish that they had adapters to use them for pumping. But they help tremendously with gas. Ever since I started using the Dr. Brown's bottles, my son has had minimal gas. He'll burp 2/3 times after feedings. Some people say they leak, but you just have to be sure that the inner tube is pushed in tight with the round beige insert that lets the milk flow to the nipple, and that it is snug in the mouth of the bottle. Also, be sure to pull the nipple all the way up through the ring that seals the bottle. I did notice that if you warm the milk in the bottle in hot water, the change in temperature can make the milk go up the inner air vent tube. I just make sure that I don't screw the white ring on tight while warming so that the pressure can equalize. Then once the milk is the temperature I want, I'll tighten it. Also, because the bottles are thick, it may take a little longer for the milk to warm. But really not a big deal since I just make my milk room temperature. Love these bottle though! Very durable, and I just use the dishwasher trays to clean all the parts.

We love these bottles, especially for formula!
I had no idea what bottles to get when pregnant, but I was told to just pick something and try. I was also told not to buy in bulk at first because it takes a while to find a bottle your baby will take. I chose these because my sister said they were what her babies loved. Thankfully, my baby loves them too! We have the side neck and skinny neck type. I ordered wife neck to start unintentionally. Then I went to pump and these did not fit and so we bought skinny neck ones to go with the side neck. We then preferred skinny ones until we realized how hard it is to get the formula in the top. So wide necks are great for formula (less ends up on the counter and wasted!!) And the skinny necks for pumping! We love the new Dr. Brown bottles with the green insert for rice cereal! We found those leak less when you leave the plunger out! All in all we use only Dr. Brown bottles and they are great quality.

Drastic difference in gassy baby
I was using Avent bottles because I bought the Avent breast pump. (Which I love by the way). I was having a horrible time with a gassy baby. I refused to believe it was because of the bottles because I loved how simple the avent bottles are to put together and wash. After complaining to her pediatrician about her gas, she suggested Dr. Brown's bottles. I decided to see what the hype was about. (My friends also swear by them.) It was an instant difference. I have sanity now! She doesn't scream with gas pains after feeding. For all the complaints about the "parts" inside, I don't see the problem. Compared to Avent which has 4 parts, there's just one more. There is a nipple, rim, bottle, round object, and a tube. It's not really that big of a deal to me. I like the wide neck bottle because it fits into my diaper bag better since it's shorter. It also seems like the baby's "latch" looks more like a breastfeeding latch than the other skinny bottles. (I might be crazy - that's just my impression.) If there's a negative it would be that they leak occasionally. I am not taking a star away because I believe that's just a side effect of the way the anti-colic bottles have to be designed to release air out somewhere besides the end of the nipple. They leak just as often as the polypropelene Avent. It's always easy to fix by unscrewing it and screwing it back together.
