This should be renamed a pamphlet or booklet: It is NOT a book.
This should be renamed a pamphlet or booklet. Like other customers I missed that it was 32 pages and a couple of those are reference pages. It is way over priced for a booklet and would be better worth the money if it were $6. With that being said it is a lot of fun content and new ideas on ways to put a journal together. I was shocked at how little content I got for the price as I have found better "books" for the same price with 100's of pages of content. So the amount of content is disappointing but the quality of content is exceptional. Wish there were more of it. I would definitely buy more of her booklets if they were less money. Now to the readability. I found it to be very jumbled and disorienting to read. The pages have a lot of images and compacted information which makes it a bit disjointed to follow. Others wrote that it was simple directions and easy to follow which is not really true as I found myself sometimes filling in the blanks because I felt some information was missing or edited out. For example: Page 22 talks about adding an optional cord closure. I then found myself asking...for what? It might have helped to reference back to page 15 where there was a photo of the cord closure. By the time I got to page 22 I had no idea what the author was talking about as we were just going over folds for the album pages and making pockets. I found myself having to flip back until I could figure out what I missed and it took me all the way back to page 15 to find it. The very last instruction for the cord closure was to adhere it to the cover which was the last step #6. A headline statement at the beginning of the instructional would have avoided a lot of confusion. This is just one example of some of the disjointed things that I found. For a beginner this could be very perplexing. You really MUST read it from front to back to understand how a lot of it works as the beginning pages set the scope for projects ahead. Consider reading the entire piece all the way through before attempting any of the projects as it may help for clarity.I would have also liked to have seen some more info on where to find cool materials to work with. I am not a personal fan of Martha Stuart we won't go into why and don't consider ever buying anything made for/by/referencing her. There were only 10 references of where to get things from and a lot of it was brand names. If you are on a budget you will be looking for less expensive alternatives. One reference was for Tim Hotlz his stuff is fantastic really but can be expensive. Best to buy his stuff from Michaels when they have a sale coupon and or when his items are on sale. Stock up then.Would I buy further work from the author Kathy Orta? Yes. I feel she has fresh ideas and has something to bring to the table however I will heftily consider the price first in the future as again I do not feel this warrants a twelve dollar price. Funny enough the backside ISBN says its $14.95 in the US. If I had come across it in a book store for that price and were able to flip through it and handle how flimsy this booklet is I definitely would have passed on it. You can find a lot of similar information out there including people who are building digital journaling kits that you can buy to print out AND watch their videos on how to put them together which will give you so much more for your money. For those of you who are better visual learners this may be a a great way to go.Not factored into my review: Amazon crushed my booklet.Factored into review: Material 5 Stars. Easy to follow 3 Stars. Cost 1 Star. Amount of material 2 Stars. Overall slightly better than average.OK sorry for dragging on I have now probably written more info than you will find in the book. Just kidding...maybe.

Great projects for the die hard scrapper
Pretty good overall. I love Kathys projects. I was alittle disappointed that the book was so thin and not as much as i thought would be in it but the instructions are very detailed so it is worth the money as her tutorials can cost this much for one so i am happy. I personally just wish the page print was alittle bigger and spread out a bit so that i wouldnt feel so overwhelmed with possibly missing something. I can't wait to make one of them then i will be able to judge it even better!

A must have!
I love this book! The tutorials in this book are so easy to follow. Step-by-step instructions with pictures to guide you through the process of creating great albums. I couldn't wait to try one of the projects...it turned out really well because I had a really easy time understanding the instructions given. If you make your own mini-albums, this book is a must-have. You'll be glad you made the purchase!

Sweet!
(This is Bob's wife ;) ) I have been in love with Kathy's instructions for a long time and am thrilled to get the info for 4 books with step-by-step instructions already printed! Getting it in August, before it was published, was a kick too. One of my daughters has made several of her books but I get bogged down because of their complexity. These books walk you through from a simple folder with tags to a folded mini, a tri-fold ending with a gatefold with two pages on hinges. Once I work my way through these books, I know I will be able to do much more complex books. I have a cutting layout sketched for the first mini - Mini Treasures - I am ready to go! Thank you Kathy!

Thought It would be more???
I have seen Kathy's blog and have watched some of her previews of her upcoming tutorials so I guess I was expecting a bigger book. Thirty two pages for four different types of scrapbooks and a couple of those pages are content and profile so I felt cheated for the price of this book/magazine. I can understand simplifying the process but I think it was simplified too much. I also do not like the fact that you must also go to the referred earlier pages.

Excellent tutorials
I have watched many of Kathy's tutorials on YouTube. They are very instructive and quite unique. This book is very well laid out and the instructions are very clear. It includes many of her most popular mini albums. You can't go wrong using her instructions.

Love the ideas in this book!
I love Kathy's ideas and the way she presents them. She gives some really great ideas that you can use, but also I think it opens your mind to new ways doing paper crafts. She helps me to be more creative.

sadly very disappointing
I love Kathy's work but this pamphlet is very disappointing sadly. Luckily I didn't pay full price and even then I do feel as though I have wasted my money. This isn't a book by any stretch of the imagination. It is a glossy good quality pamphlet. The instructions are actually quite difficult to follow and the diagrams and photos aren't particularly clear. There are four projects but they can be found online easily for free and so I am surprised that they are being sold in a booklet. I guess for those who aren't fans of the computer it might be useful.
