Cursive Writing Practice: Inspiring Quotes: Reproducible Activity Pages With Motivational and Character-Building Quotes That Make Handwriting Practice Meaningful

I work with high school girls who have learning disabilities. Two of my 12th graders were literally incensed that they had not been taught cursive writing beyond the 4th grade because they were considered "ineducable". Bologna! They are in mainstream classes doing very well, but they wanted to learn cursive writing. I sent away for another great book to start them off with the individual letters and they did beautifully. Then I bought them each a calligraphy pen when they got to "w", and their writing is beautiful. So I purchased this book because when I mentioned it, they became very interested in it. I gave it to them today, and they couldn't wait to start. The book has wonderful quotes that we are discussing as the girls go through copying them, so they are learning a great deal about colloquial language as well as learning to write. This is a wonderful book, and handled correctly, it can be much more than simply a lesson in copying. I highly recommend this book for anyone of any age who is learning cursive writing. I have, BTW, worked with children and teens with learning disabilities for over 40 years, so I am familiar with all of the implications of what I'm saying. Teens will NOT be insulted by this book because it's for 3-5 grade levels. If the student wants to learn, that's all they will care about. Fantastic book and very thoughtfully designed!

We were taking a cross country road trip and I was trying to reduce the amount of screen time my kids had and also hone the much needed skill of handwriting. I needed something that would seem mature enough for my middle schooler and soon to be high school freshman so I gave this workbook with inspiring quotes a gamble. It was received with mixed results. The 12 year old girl LOVED it, practiced, saved the quotations, improved her handwriting, and it had the exact results I was hoping for. The 14 year-old boy was not so motivated or impressed. He looked through it and tried a few but it just did not inspire him. But I knew it would be a stretch for him. The quotations are great and it is well formatted. I recommend it for younger middle schoolers.

I love that this is both a way to practice cursive and a jumping off point for larger discussions about famous people and sayings. If you are going to copy something over and over again, it might as well be worth remembering.

The pages are landscape and have smaller spaces and lines - I'd say it's for the next step up from the Jokes version. Our son is 9 and just started 4th grade and the jokes version is perfect for him now. My wife says this would be perfect for a child or adult that wants to improve their cursive and is ready to write smaller. The lines are NOT TINY but just right for maybe a very proficient writer from 3rd grade and up. I'd say this is exactly right for 5th grade plus if they are on pace. Love the fact that you can write and cut out a favorite quote to color and post.

My daughter started High School this year and had several papers that she needed to sign. Come to find out, her previous teachers did not teach her cursive as they felt with the advent of the PC cursive was not necessary. So I was looking for something that would help my daughter learn to sign her name and read cursive. Since she is a teenager, I did not want to anger her with books that appeared to be for elementary school, but I was wanting something that would try to teach the basics. This book ended up fitting the bill. My daughter was glad it was not babyish and found the two tear-out cursive alphabet charts helpful to where she could keep them in handy places in case she needed to review them. She found the quotes boring, but found the practice helpful in learning cursive.

So I bought this for myself and I know it’s for kids but it is super relaxing to practice cursive and the inspiring quotes are a bonus.

This is a good product to use with your teen who hasn't quite mastered cursive or who has an illegible handwriting that needs practice to be legible.

I was looking for a handwriting practice book, for my son who is dyslexic & coming up thirteen. He knows how to join up his writing, but not always in the right way to make it legible. So I got this because you can do as much or as little as you like & it's not a beginner book.You can photocopy the pages too & practice them as many time as you like.There's 40 American quotes from famous Presidents etc & although the subject is a little dry, the actual cursive practice sheets are very good.The only valid negative I can come up with is you need to point out a couple of American spellings before hand & make sure to replace it with our English spelling. e.g Color - Colour..On the whole an ideal handwriting practice tool....

I bought this to use with my son, who struggles with fine motor movement and, consequently, handwriting. Finding resources to help him practice, has been hard. This is one of the few products which has a more "grown up" feel to it, and therefore not off putting to a teenager.The down side is that the handwriting is cursive, and not based on the Nelson system used in the UK. However, he seems to be able to accept that one or two letters are different, and he can ignore that. He has been quite impressed with some of the quotes, and that has also led to some great conversations.

I have my 13 year old practicing her cursive and the inspiring quotes are a nice way of doing it! Her brother has the joke book, but this appeals to her more mature side!

Didn't like it all two much. It seems to be priced way high for the amount of actual writing space and practice you get. Won't recommend
