I bought this for my Dometic refrigerator. The 12v receptacle screws in to keep it from accidentally becoming unplugged like a normal cigarette lighter plug. Now I don’t have to worry about our food going bad on us during a trip.

No dislikes. I have 2 CFX 45's. I have 2 Dometic outlets. The connections are both safe, secure and convenient. Comes with good gauge wire/fused to get from front the back if that's your application.It really is the way to go.

I have installed one of these in each of my vehicles in the trunk area. It is top quality and the cabling is very nice as well. I think I have purchased 4 of them. Highly recommended.

1. I had literally zero excess getting this to the back of a double cab short bed Taco. 20 ft seems like infinity until you start shielding and zip tying. I would double check 20' will work for you otherwise you be better off just buying bulk 10 gauge. Would have been super pissed if I had to butt splice and extend after all the time spent crawling under the car.2. The screw down locking terminals could/should be bigger and more robust. They are on a PCB which already makes the connection fragile and you have to be careful to play very nice and not push or over torque. But the terminals also so tight in diameter that they fight the 10 gauge on insertion and wires want to peel off from the core and not go into the terminal. I would have rather crimped a plug connector on the wire and plugged into the PCB. I get they are going for the common hand tool approach with the design but in doing so this combination of choices makes what should be the victory lap portion of the install extremely finnicky.Also didn't see it mentioned in the description or reviews but its fused on BOTH ends @ 15A.

I didn’t even realize this came with the wire needed, it was a very generous amount and well made. Happy I spend the extra few dollars over cheaper options, this thing feels solid and looks great.

Installation instructions were simple and clear. Length of wiring was sufficient for my 4 door Jeep Wrangler. Construction is solid. I'm purchasing a second one for the wife's car today :).

I bought a Dometic 12-volt “ice chest” style refrigerator that needed a heavy gauge “always on” circuit in my car rather than the cigarette-lighter style that goes off when the car is off. With a proper fuse, this accessory by Dometic is perfect to wire right off the battery terminals. (The refrigerator’s computer doesn’t allow the battery to discharge too deeply to start the car.). The quality and capacity of other outlets offered don’t come close to this one. Worth the cost.

Use these on the boat to handle the freezer fridge and portable lithium batteries. They don't overheat or melt
