Incredibly comfortable
When I was 18 I purchased a Mossberg 500 and put a top folding ATI stock on it. I wanted a compromise between pistol grip and full stock. The old stock looked cool but was a little shorter than a standard stock, and when fired in pistol grip mode really beat your hand up. As I grew up a little I wanted a regular, full stock shotgun. Enter the Hogue overmolded stock. The kit came with a matching foregrip (added bonus, 7 years had not been kind to the original grip). Installation was a breeze if you are familiar with shotguns at all. One word of caution, if you have a pistol grip you will need a longer bolt to attach the stock. The stock and grip have a rubberized coating with a pattern to increase grip where your hands go. The stock also comes with a rubber end plate to reduce felt recoil. The stock performs amazingly, is a great length for me, and is incredibly comfortable.

Great setup
First, without reading the reviews here I probably would have not ordered the adapter nut and been in bind, but since I did I knew to measure the forend with the grip off and since mine was 6 3/4" long, I knew to order the adapter nut.I ordered this since my old forend cracked down the middle. Removing the old stock was easy, used a socket with an extension to remove the stock screw and channel lock players to remove the forend nut. Just reversed the process to install the new parts. Everything fit well, there are no gaps or overlaps, just looks like it was built that way.I took it out and shot three rounds of skeet and it handled as well as before. Going from low ready to the shoulder in a hurry is a bit more difficult due to the grabby nature of the stock material, but I usually call for the target with the gun mounted to my shoulder so it isn't a problem. The balance does not feel any different, and shooting doubles is actually easier since I don't grip the forend, I just rest it on my left hand and work the action with friction, and there is now more friction to work with. It took a little getting used to, and I can't say my scores have improved any due to the new stock, but I will keep practicing and hope to make a few 25's this year. All in all I am very happy with the stock and forend. I wasn't planning in purchasing this, but necessity dictated and I am very pleased with the results. I would be happy to recommend the Hogue Shotgun Stock and Forend kit. Just make sure you measure the forend before ordering, 6.75 inches requires the adapter nut.

Perfect fit on a 1971 mossberg 500 12ga
At first, I thought it wouldn't fit, but a friend set me straight and explained the install. It is a 5 1/2 inch bolt with 5/16 thread. Perfect fit and i was able to install in 25 minutes.

Read before you install on a Mossberg 500 tactical
For want of a washer or two, it lost 1 star. Bought this for a Mossberg 500 tactical 8-shot to replace the nasty plastic forearm and, as an afterthought, the stock. Replaced the forearm beautifully (but, you'll also need a forearm slot tool to get it off and replace it, I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0091EKBA0/ which worked perfectly). This replacement stock has a slightly better cushioned pad and grip. It also makes the pull around an inch shorter, and a bit more comfortable for an average sized guy like me, it wasn't bad before, but yes this is more comfortable. The stock bolt is an issue, if you had the original stock on it and are replacing it with this one and you use the original bolt and washers, before you put the pad on the new stock, very carefully check to be sure the gun is cleared (which you should have done before you started) and see if you can un-safe the gun and pull the trigger, if it doesn't exercise the firing pin, take the stock back off, add a couple not included washers, and put it back on and you're in business. Seller! A new bolt and at least a lock washer and 2 flat washers should come with this for that amount of money!

Great upgrade over stock furniture.
Grippy, comfortable, and reliable. A solid, dependable replacement/upgrade for stock furniture. The only thing to be aware of is the rubber isn't immune to chemicals. Some products like bug spray can harm the rubber. So do a quick bit of research if you're dousing yourself with mosquito repellent before shouldering the shotgun and taking aim.

Feels great
Great quality. Does not come with bolt. But came with washer. So you may have to go get the right size bolt.

Poor assembly design
The endgrip is fine enough but the manufacturing design is poorly. The inner chamber surrounding the screw is too tight, requiring me to forcibly screw it down so the walls spread out around the screw. Because it was only scraping against the walls and not tightening down on anything, it still had a bit of a wobble even after further tightening and the end of the screw entering the firing assembly, preventing the safety from fully switching back, and jamming the elevator halfway. I don't even know the purpose of the washer they include unless they expect you to have a longer screw. The material feels fine enough, not flimsy, but assembly leaves a lot more to be desired. Since I've already "damaged" it, if I can't alter it to what I need this will unfortunately be a shelved bust and I'll be looking elsewhere for what I need.

Returned my shotgun to original configuration.
Returned my shotty to its original functionality. When I was younger, and dumber, I put a “tacticool” stock on my shotgun and the ergonomics were ruined. Lost the original stock in a move.I ordered this stock and now the shotgun feels like it should now.
