Q: Can this device detect iron or steel?

This detector can detect all metals. I had one but when I got it I found out how heavy it was, and I returned it.

Q: Does someone knows how deep can be detect?

Typically you will be able to find metal items (depending on the size of the item) up to 14” deep but it will depend on the type of soil or ground you are hunting in.

Q: Are you satisfied with the performance of the ATX PI unit?

Yes, I am. However, if you are thinking about getting one as a first time user, I would not suggest it. There is a higher learning curve with it than the other VLF units like the Ace 350 or the AT Pro. This unit is geared more toward gold or silver prospecting. Since there are no gold or silver veins or streams in my neck of the woods, I mainly use my ATX for beach or relic hunting. It preforms amazingly in those tasks.

Q: Am I looking for gold and rings or land mines and IED's?

This metal detector is not made for land mines, it is a hobby detector, for detecting gold and other metals, for land mines there are other types, Garrett make one Thanks
