I received the two containers. The smooth finish has no problem closing. The hammered one has a defect on the top which doesn't let it close properly. In return water spills out. I've already reached out to seller with no response. The reason for 3 stars.😥

Do not buy. Interior of bottle already flaking less than 24 hours. Horrible product and potentially dangerous.

I've never thought I would describe a water bottle as elegant, but that's a good word to describe these. Form in this case is by far much better than function. Sure, they work as water bottles, but I'm not sure about the long-term use of these. Mostly because of the somewhat delicate nature of copper. Copper itself will obviously last forever, but one wrong drop of these bottles will potentially render them annoyingly useless.I'll start by discussing the design and presentation. The packaging that these bottles came in is quite fantastic. It's clear, someone put a lot of attention into the colors and design. When you open this, you really feel like you've bought something special. The bottles themselves were double wrapped in plastic bags, ensuring that they wouldn't be damaged. Also, the red wrapping paper just adds a little more elegance to the package. This is the whole reason why I suggested these would make a great gift as the title to this review.I do believe that these are handmade, as there are plenty of natural defects that you would expect from something that isn't completely mass produced. However, I would have expected a little more buffing out of the copper to hide some of the mechanical stamping that was used to create them. Not a big deal, but just something I noticed. IF these are used on a regular basis, they'll get their own defects which will likely hide the manufacturing ones.From a functional perspective, my bottles do not leak. I filled them up with water and tilted and squeezed to see if any water leaks. Fortunately, they work great. There's a nice rubber seal to make sure that doesn't happen. They've included extra seals in case you lose one.The only concern I have is how these will hold up over time. While these are by no means 'expensive' water bottles, you'd still want to be careful. Copper is more durable than aluminum, which is what many non-plastic bottles are made from. But I don't think these will visibly hold up over time. I suppose you could re-buff them up if they get scratched. However, I think copper is more prone to 'patina' effects. This is something that requires a special type of cleaning to avoid.The only functional issue I have with these is cleaning them. You can't use soap or any type of scrubbing material. It's recommended to use a lime/water solution to keep them clean. That's a bit of a pain to have to do. It's not impossible, but just not that practical in real world use.I've only just received these bottles and have limited use with them so I can't really talk about any long-term use. I'll use these and if I discover anything major (good or bad), I'll update this review.As the title suggests, I do think this would make a great gift. I think the recipient would be very pleased. I also think these are great for personal use, but I'm sure that there other less expensive and longer lasting alternatives. That being said, I would recommend these as a nicer looking alternative to a standard water bottle.

I am aware of the properties of copper as I used to be a distiller many years ago. The packaging is top notch, although the manufacturer could cut down on the layers of plastic wrap over the containers. The finish is beautiful although the copper will change over time.I do have a couple of issues however. One: the o-ring material and design into the cap could have been better. Tightening down causes the o-ring to warp unevenly. Two, one of the caps has a small dent as if it was dropped prior to final packaging. It still seals, but QA should not have let the go. Receiving this as gift to see a dent in the cap would be a major bummer.Now for the usage part. Not impressed. It is not insulated. I poured in a cold V8 Hydrating drink. Within 10 minutes I noticed it wasn’t as cool. After about 30 minutes, it seemed almost room temp. So. I’d say a beautiful container for room temp water. But not to keep it cold.Therefore, 3 stars. I expected, as a thermos, for it to have some insulation. If it did, it would be a 5.More to come as I use these for my daily liquid consumption. Will update as needed.

This are really nice and I can really get behind a pure copper water bottle.Copper is naturally antimicrobial. It kills viruses, it kills bacteria. This is legit science, its not blog science, its real. They've done studies replacing touch surfaces in hospitals with copper and it reduces hospital acquired infections by 90%. Covid survives shortest on copper than on any other material. For something that you're always touching and always drinking from it makes a lot of sense to have it be antimicrobial.Finished, sealed, pretty, copper is not antimicrobial. If your copper is sealed with a clearcoat you're touching the clearcoat, you need to touch the actual copper. This bottles are not sealed, so thats good, but copper does patina, you should expect that. They will not stay shiny and new, but copper patina is beautiful so its not a bad thing.You should not put these in the dishwasher, so theres that.I do not know if I would trust the lid in a bag on its side without spilling. There is an O ring, and an extra is included, but it just doesn't feel like it screws on tight. And yes also unscrewing to take a drink isn't very smooth.There is an oil or industrial sort of smell on these. Having gotten metal work from india before I know the smell well, its an oil they use to lubricate their equipment. If I can smell it its on the metal, if its on the metal I'm going to be drinking it? Pass. These are going to need a major scrubbing, and not in the dishwasher, once received, and that I do not like. That is why they are not 5 stars.They come in very nice packaging, very giftable.
