Built Decks for 30 years...NEVER USED A SINGLE SCREW EVER!
Have things changed or what? Crap! Now everything is SO Expensive! What happened to the buying-power of OUR dollar. I believe Wash.DC has burdened so many industries with regulations and such HIGH taxes...that this alone has resulted in EXTREMELY HIGH-PRICED products!. (How can our grand-kids afford this stuff?) One thing is for sure: Wash.DC WASTES a majority of the money we send them. That is A CRIME!. We MUST STOP THEM!. And, How do we do that?..."VOTE THE BUMS OUT OF OFFICE AND START AGAIN".! That's a start.....Anyway, In the fall of 2019, I repaired a 10 year-old deck. The Treated Southern-Pine used in the rail system looked HORRIBLE! The 10 year-old "Treated" pine was SPLIT, TWISTED, BOWED AND ROTTEN!! Yes Rotten! (My 35 year old "Wolmanized" Southern Pine deck on my home looked better than this 10 year-old stuff!)Please People, BEWARE!...The current Pressure-Treating Process for lumber is near worthless!. This new process is Horrible...WHAT HAS HAPPENED.? Who knows? Probably stupid government hacks got involved.Anyway again. Along with the rotted pine...there was another problem. The 10 Year-Old "Deck-Screws" were nearly rusted to NOTHING! Could not get any of the screws out! It was a mess. I had to cut and pry these 10 year-old boards off the newel posts. I hated it! The DECK SCREWS WERE RUSTED TO NOTHING! So, I purchased these "Even-More-Expensive" Stainless-Steel screws. I hope they hold-up. I did find that the "Treated-Lumber" manufacturers/sellers do recommend Stainless screws with the new chemical process. From what I have found...I believe these stainless-steel screws will still be laying-around on the ground, long-after the HORRIBLE TREATED LUMBER ROTS AWAY TO DUST.!And Again, My 35 year old Wolmanized Deck still looks pretty good. WHAT HAS HAPPENED? Hey Lumber Suppliers!...Fix this Now!..Go Back to the Old Wolmanized Process!...so our grandkids will have something reliable!. Stop selling GARBAGE.!!.So Finally, Regarding the stainless steel screws: The quality was excellent. The size was perfect for 2X lumber. (Note- When comparing side by side to a Hillman deck screw. Shaft and threads were similar. But the head on the stainless screw was slightly larger in diameter. I liked that.) The star-drive was excellent...not a dud in the box. And the screws drove-in fine and held tight. Could not ask for more. Yes, I liked the screws. How they look in 10 years? Only Time will tell.I will update to let you know how these Stainless Steel screws hold-up in the HIGHLY-CORROSIVE "Treated-Lumber" .Another tip...I am wearing a mask anytime I cut this crap. This new-lumber chemical is toxic. So..WEAR A MASK.! .

Good, not great
I live in a coastal area and when building anything, the hardware is always stainless. I built an 8x10 shed, using Eagle Claw #10x3 screws. All of the lumber was treated, nothing thinner than 2x. I did not have any of the issues of bending, heads twisting off/breaking, or stripping. None of that. Then again, I know how to use power tools properly. My only observations are that the points are not 'self tapping' and you have to lean on them a little more than some other framing and decking screws to get them started. I did not pre-drill anything. Had no splitting. The other is that they dont 'grab' as well as some other framing and decking screws. If you have a piece of slightly warped wood (pretty much all of it these days), you hope that the screw will be grippy enough to pull the two pieces together. The Eagle claw failed to do this every time. So I used another type of screw in those cases, generic Ace Hardware, that was the same size. It worked every time. In short, if you torque down on these screws they will spin vs. getting tighter. All in all, they do the job. Just not as good as some others.

Good stainless screws, no issues with stripping out or breaking.
Going to preface this that I was a bit hesitant to buy these as numerous people reported stripping out the heads or the screws breaking. I've used stainless steel screws a few times in the past with same issue. I just needed to realize stainless screws are softer so I consider pre-drilling a must. Some had reported they still had issues even after pre-drilling, which makes me wonder how they were pre-drilling, into what, and how deep? I used countersink tapered bits and drilled to the bottom depth, with torque setting on the drill set to 8 when I put the screws in. Did not have a single head strip out on me or break, all screws seemed to have good bite as well. This was done on some old mahogany decking that I was reusing to build adirondack chairs. Use them properly and you shouldn't have an issue. No guarantees if you're going into harder wood like Oak or Maple but same should apply if prepped correctly.

BREAKAGE - for decking
These screws do not have the tensile strength to tolerated the torque pressure that is applied when screwing them into treated lumber 2"x6" boardwalk crossbeams. The head section breaks off more than 80% of the screws when enough torque is applied to have them sit flush with the board.Unfortunately, we spent thousands on a boardwalk, and I supplied these deck screws to the installer, only to have the weak link be these cheap screws; I was pennywise and pound foolish... I wish I had spent an extra $75 per deck screw 25# bucket :(Now I will have a boardwalk that will have boards come up over time as the screw heads have twisted off in the board :(Spend the extra money and get the other SS 3" deck screws; there is a reason they cost a little more, but in the end it will be worth it....Avoid this cheap temptation.

this is a thin screw.
This is not a #10 but a #8. for a 3" screw it cannot begin to put up with the torq required to screw in that deep. Half of them snap. Further, it isn't like grip tight brand that has coarse screws threads and easy to install. This screw has twice the twists and no tapered point to facilitate installation. You want to increase your work load by a factor of ten, buy these.

Not as strong as other brands
These were a lot less expensive than the ones I bought from a chain hardware store. But the ones from the store were a lot better. The threads on these were visibly less aggressive, meaning less bite, and I stripped some heads out and broke some heads off completely while screwing my dock together. That never happened to me before with other stainless screws Time will tell how well they hold my dock together. If you’re a DIYer like me these may be worth the money you save.

Buyer be ware pool quality
This was an unfortunate purchase. Bought for a dock with the expectation these screws would do the job. They do not self drill and break without pre drilling a 1/8 hole. Added hours of extra work to the project. Low quality and I would avoid buying this brand.

Many screws broke
I was using the screws as advertised, for pressure treated decking. Within about 5 minutes, and having pre-drilled, I broke 5 screws. I have never had this experience with any other screws of any type. Fortunately, I had another brand available and was able to carry on with the job. I am very experienced having constructed with wood for over 50 years. I would not recommend this product.

Very nice screws!!
Was worried about the strength bite & durability of these screws due to some seemingly competent handy peeps on here... but unlike some I never had a one screw break in over a thousand screws.... even tried to break on by not drilling a few pilot holes .. nothing but a solid screw every time!!!!đź¤

great quality
I have a salt water pool and these didn't rust at all.Keep in mind the screw head is bigger than most deck screws. This was a good thing for me because it helped flatten cupped boards.

Star drive is inadequate!
It’s a lousy product using “star” drive, which doesn’t work in most conditions!Ifthescrews had Robertson drive they’d be great!

Really good product .
Works well, especially with the Torx head & the stainless steel for damp & sometimes underwater areas of a walkway.
