Wong Feihung rouses Chinese nationalism again this time vs the Japanese
Wong Fei-Hung is a favorite character in Chinese period pieces. That’s because he was a symbol of Chinese nationalism. This one features Vincent Zhao in the role fighting the Japanese another favorite topic. In fact, there’s a take off of Bruce Lee’s Chinese Connection when some of Wong’s students attempt to enter a Japanese business and are told no Chinese dogs are allowed in. Resentment against how the Japanese treated China for decades is still a big issue. The movie takes place at the turn of the century and portrays a country in chaos. There are people protesting the Japanese who China is about to go to war with, and the White Lotus Society wants to get rid of corrupt officials. Wong is caught in the middle of all these forces. The story includes some political rivalry and intrigue. The fight scenes are the real draw of the film and they’re good. Lots of fast action mixed in with some wire work. There’s some comedy in there as well with Wong’s students.

This aint your daddy's kungfu flick....!
I'm a big fan of Vincent Zhao, particularly his Tv series Master of Tai - Chi. But this movie had too much wire work and the fight scenes sucked big time. I couldn't finish watching it. This is just a pay check movie.

not like the 90's .... a let down.
Its not high flying action like the ones in the 90's. And its like a reboot of part 2 but the story line is diffrent.

There are a lot of "flying" combat fighters.
I'm not into this kind of fantasy action movies.

Don’t waste your time watching this movie.
This movie was so bad! Regret paying $5 to rent it. This is the worse Wong fei Hung ever! Very bad directing.

When you believe? You can win, even the wining could be very basic!
The movie has a great theme, although sometimes too idealistic, but the courage inspiration is there, we can take it to put it in our context and be successful with it, it is "When you believe" and do not give up, you can win!

Not good
Too much CGI, fight scenes seem to be shot in slow motion, too much anticipation in the moves.

Wong Fei Hung
Doesn't improve in many areas of the first film. In fact, it moves steps back. I don't even remember what happened lol. But it's worth watching because of the characters.4 STARSThank you for the excellent Amazon service!5 STARS
