My go-to Vitamin D and brand
I absolutely love this Vitamin D3 by Solgar, as it is made from high quality ingredients, which has helped me tremendously. Vitamin D in slightly higher dosage are especially helpful and beneficial to those who doesn’t get much sunlight. The softgels are just tiny, which is very easy to swallow. It doesn’t smell bad and leaves no undesirable aftertaste. They’re also easier to absorb than tablet forms as they are made in soft gels form. I highly recommend this effective Vitamin D, and brand to others as this is definitely worth the asking price.

Thank you doteswick for your review re rheumatoid arthritis. This has changed my life
Thank you, dotsewick for your review re rheumatoid arthritis. My C Reactiv Protein and sed rate and other R factors have been high for years and I have joint swelling, typical deformation that runs in my family. I'm on methotrexate and biologics. But what has been getting worse and worse and worse is something I described to my doctor as "frozen joints". Even after sitting for a couple of minutes it would hurt to move. In fact, I was in constant pain. But it was worse if I was still for even a short period of time and then moved. Airplane travel, movie theaters, getting out of bed etc had me in tears. I looked for forums and others who had joint pain after being still for short period of time and came across this review from doteswick. It sounded like me. I take one multivitamin a day, but when you're desperate you will try things. I took 50,000 IU's of this and it is a bloody miracle. I can kneel and then get up again. I can get out of bed or up from sitting down without hobbling around like a 90 year old woman. I get my bloodwork done every 8 weeks because I take methotrexate and other things for RA but massive dose of D3 really helped. Really, really helped. I've been reluctant to say anything because I don't want to jinx the results I've had. I no longer am taking narcotics. I will discuss dosage with my doctor next visit because you can get into trouble with too much but my body tends to process medicines very quickly (I take the maximum oral dosage of methotrexate (8 pills) and even a couple days later the level in my blood is borderline low). I took 50,000 IU's and felt results 24 hours later. I took 10,000 IU's per day thereafter but increased to 20,000 IU's per day when some knee pain returned. This is a high dose but I'm going to keep doing it until I see my rheumatologist next month. What do I have? I've been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases (sjogren's syndrome, RayNaud's, sclerosus, etc). My feet and hand joints are swollen and deformed and RA runs in my family. But this pain I have been experiencing these past 8-10 years that I reported to my doctor as "joint pain all the time" was likely a bone disorder. I drink milk and eat fish and take a multivitamin but it was this big dose that gave me relief. I do not know what my levels were, but thanks to a reviewer here, I am a whole lot better. My future was looking so grim and I went to dark places, I feel like I have a new outlook ahead of me and am so relieved. Is your chronic "joint pain" from D deficiency and actually bone pain? Try a 50,000 IU dose and see. It helped me a lot.

My regular buy
I buy this product since 11 years now. Before my D level was so low like 15, after using that regular basis, my level is around 70. If you are not under sun all the time, it is really good product. Did not get any side effects at all. I take it after meal once a day. Easy to swallow.

Easy Way to Keep Vitamin D Levels Up
Solgar Vitamin D3 5000 IU is an easy daily supplement to take. The softgels are small, easy to swallow, and don’t have any aftertaste. I like that it’s a higher strength, so I only need one a day, and the bottle lasts a long time. The brand feels reliable and the ingredients list is clean. Overall, a simple and convenient way to support healthy vitamin D levels.

I spend too much time indoors / I am also lactose intolerant
Most of the reason I am inside is I live in Michigan and we have some pretty long winters to where my skin cannot be exposed to the sun to produce Vitamin D naturally. I am also inside since I work from home and spend most of my time behind a computer. I really have to limit my exposure to the sun. In my youth, I was in the construction field and always just wore shorts during the summer. I was exposed to the sun, especially my back for 8-12 hours a day. When I was about 23 I started to get pre-cancerous skin spots on my back and my doctor told me to limit my exposure to the sun otherwise they could turn into something much worse down the road. I just find that during the winter months especially, that having a good Vitamin D3 supplement is a must have for me. The fact that I am a vegetarian and lactose intolerant does not help with getting the amount of Vitamin D my body needs. During the summer months when I am working outdoors in my garden I tend to cut back on the dosage a bit though. I find that in the winter if I take Vitamin D that I do not have that loss of energy that I feel when I do not take it. This is just my experience though. This is a nice product and I hope the review helped you, thanks for reading
