All that I wanted to know, about these small islands
Here in Brazil, I read this excellent Bradt travel guide book. This small book is about a small African country: São Tomé and Principe. The author, a German woman, made an excellent book. This book is concise, but even so, it has all that I wanted to know about São Tomé and Principe. These small islands are really well covered, in this book.I'll show below six good things in this book:1-This isn't a propaganda-book for stupid tourists. This book really tells about health problems of these islands, including good advices about malaria and foods.2-This book doesn't forgets about corruption and theft; even recognizing that crime in São Tomé and Principe is low. See page 69. Problems with electricity, prices, etc. are well covered in this book.3-All restaurants, bars, hotels are in this guide. You can read about their prices, quality, size, etc. before to travel.4-There's good maps in this book; the bests are next to the cover. Even the islet of Rolas has a good map (see pages 160 and 161).5-Brazil is remembered in this book, as a source of soup operas (page 110) and martial art capoeira (page 151) for the persons living, in these islands.6- On page 13, the author praizes the Portuguese colonialism, with these sentences:"The Portuguese colonialists traditionally mixed more with the native population than the English; there is a saying that whereas English and French colonialists made enemies, the Portuguese made children."

Better than the alternatives
There were few books available about this place...so of course this is the one I used. A lot of information either unavailable or incomplete.
