I REALLY enjoyed the Pressure Cooker 100 ebook!
This book covered the “K.I.S.S.” of pressure cooking. I would call it pressure cooking 101. My physician ordered a new life plan that includes lots of fresh foods and meats that are not processed. The crock pot has made the cooking easier but takes a L-O-N-G time and this book explains how to cook an entire meal like Red Beans and Rice in less than an hour, including soaking!!Pros:time management ( most meals average between 15-30 minutes)cost –shows the reader how to buy the less expensive cuts of meat and make it taste as good or better than the expensive oneseducation—how NOT to blow up the kitchen as well as remove most anxiety related to operating the two different types of pressure cookersrecipes—locks in the flavor not the bad stuff. I never knew I could make Beer Chicken in a pressure cooker!Variety—in cooking styles, diverse range of recipes such as Chinese, Italian, southern and northerneasy to read and follow. Even provides a chart showing the different foods and cooking time requirements for each.Cons:having a few pictures to demonstrate samples of the different types of pressure cookers as well as either a link to a video of a properly vented lid during cooking or a few pictures. All in all, this book is well worth the purchase and I can not wait to go and get my new pressure cooker tomorrow.

A New Old Way to Cook Good Food
Wow, maybe I have been in a closet, but I have wondered from time to time where pressure cookers went to. I was used to my mother’s older version – the ones with the release valve on top that rocks to let out steam. Boy have they come a long way. You can now buy an electric version that has settings and a sleeker look. This book will re-spark your memory of pressure cookers as well as inspire you to delve back into using them. It contains simply explained instructions for general use of a pressure cooker as well as explaining the uses for natural vs. quick release. And then there are all the methods I never really considered using in a pressure cooker: browning, poaching, braising and rice! I have always wanted my rice to turn out like it does at the Chinese restaurants but didn’t want to waste money on a tool that is solely for rice. And the recipes; it has everything from sauces to desserts as well as handy timing charts for cooking certain things. Yes, this book has inspired me to experiment in the world of pressure cooking and I am excited.

A lot easier than I thought!
I remember my mother had a pressure cooker when I was a kid and we had to clean the food off the walls once after it exploded. I’ve always been a bit afraid of them after that. But now, my friends are all talking about their pressure cookers and how safe they are. I’m ready to jump back in the game and this book is perfect for that stepping-off point. Simple instructions for broiling, steaming, stewing and poaching make it pretty easy to imagine. I always thought you could only cook meat dishes in a pressure cooker, but that’s not the case. The recipe in here for Potato Cheese Soup says it takes 3 minutes to cook. Really? That’s faster than a microwave. And the recipe for Aloo Chana (Chickpeas and Potatoes) is something I’ve always wanted to make and this says it takes only 30 minutes and boom, dinner. (BTW, if you don’t have a pressure cooker, I think these recipes would work on the stove with a longer cooking time. I love the recipes, so I’m going to give that a try!) Looking at a pressure cooker to buy now.

It Just Might Replace Your Microwave
Pressure cooker Cookbook by Mendocino PressOver 100 fast & Easy Stove-Top and Electric Pressure Cooker RecipesQ: What did we do before microwave ovens? A: Pressure cookers Q: What do what do we do now that microwave ovens exist? Still use pressure cookers. This book opened up my mind and helped me realize that I had been neglecting valuable piece of equipment in my kitchen. The book says that if a pressure cooker is used properly one will realize greater nutritional value over nutrient depleted boiled vegetables. I knew that a pressure cooker was great for meats, sea foods, soups, stews and beans but was pleasantly surprised to learn that this cooking device will allow me to make perfect rice and risotto!! Even more incredible was learning to cook splendid desserts like Fudge Drops, Dulce De Leche ice cream Pie, lemon custard, chocolate pudding with whipped cream. Who knew that a pressure cooker was so amazing?I can’t wait to try the recipes for The Shrimp Risotto and seafood Gumbo. The recipes seem east to follow. The book was well worth the books price.

Quick, Easy, Tasty, and Nutritious - Can't go wrong with these recipes!
More than anything else, I was impressed by the ease and speediness of these pressure-cooker recipes. The vast majority of them seem easy to prepare, use common ingredients I would normally buy from the grocery store anyway, and cook so quickly (70% faster than other cooking methods) that it’s almost unbelievable. The book lists entrées, side items, and even desserts – all of which can be made right in the pressure cooker itself and with minimal effort from the chef. Can you say fresh rice in 10 minutes or less, seafood gumbo that cooks in 1 minute, and homebrew applesauce ready in 2 minutes?Every pressure cooker recipe in this book indicates the amount of liquid to use, the pressure cooking time (once pressure has been achieved), and the pressure-release method to employ when it’s cooked. This book also contains basic and advanced techniques for using your pressure cooker; lots of great pressure cooker timing charts for common foods; and specific guidelines for pressure cooking rice, grains, and beans – all of which will help to save you time and energy, as well as preserve the vitamins in foods. Really, after you start cooking with the recipes in this book, you’ll wonder how you ever cooked before without them.

Ideal for the American kitchen
Didn’t realise the recipes were for the American market. Ingredients mostly found in USA. Can be adapted I suppose but little disappointing.
