Women's Mateleasse Column Gown | Elegant Evening Gown with Floral Design, Back Slit & Cap Sleeves

I've watched this dress for a while, I have upcoming weddings and my closet has 2 very formal and 1 very nice long dresses. This falls in between which I do need. It is very pretty, much more colorful than I expected, very comfy fabric that is lightweight (unlike my two formal) and well made. I got on sale so the value for money was excellent. Appears to be very well made. The fabric is more brocade than I expected, with beautiful rose pink hues throughout (not as beige as photos look) and a gold shimmer throughout. Up until it arrived I thought I might have to return because (1) will it be too beige for wedding - NO (2) will I lose too much color since I'll have to hem it - NO (3) Column dresses not usually my thing. It is just so pretty I'm keeping it and can't wait to wear.

I love this dress and the size is true. The material is elegant and substantial, with a figured pattern and rich, pale colors, and the construction quality of the dress is excellent on mine. The ribbon belt is of handsome grosgrain, (ribbed ribbon), in a smoky pale taupe/grey color with a finished decorative small looped edge and perfectly compliments the dress. The length was for a 1" or higher heel on me and I am 5'8". Delivery was right on time.

I fell in love with this dress! It is so comfortable and flattering. I got so many complements and the colors went well with my daughter's flowers and colors. The fabric is forgiving and even more beautiful up close with little threads of gold throughout. I hemmed it myself by hand because it's a thicker fabric and it looked fine. I'm 5' 2" and had to cut 6" off. It fit true to size.

Packaging could be better Sent it to me in a return bag, crumbled and ribbon was super wrinkled. It is not lace but soft and stretchy. Dress is pretty and easy to wear. Had to hem because length is long.

This dress is well made, nice lining and beautiful matelasse material. It has more muted colors than pictured, I was a little disappointed that the peachy-pink and light blues weren’t a little more colorful, but still beautiful. Nice copper colored threading though out. Dress is long! I’m 5’7” and it draped on the floor, even with small heels. I had it shortened several inches to make a tea length dress but retained some of the bottom pattern and had the slit closed most if the way. Turned out well. Lovely dress for family of wedding party.

Perfect mother’s dress for a wedding. No iron needed so perfect to pack for a destination wedding. I picked the wrong shapewear. Would have been better without. Received a lot of complements on this feminine dress. Photographed nicely. Felt like it was flattering. So comfortable to wear. I plan on wearing it to other occasions. Might consider making it cocktail length.

Great dress. The gold thread throughout is totally unnoticeable in the picture, but it is lovely. The beige background in my dress was definitely darker than in this picture. The dress has a lot of stretch in it, I'm 5'8 and 140 lbs., and the size 6 fit perfectly. I'm also big in the chest, but even with the close fit of the dress, it doesn't look top heavy. I think my dress may have been much longer than others because it touched the floor with 3.5 inch heels. Most of the other reviewers seemed to have gotten shorter dresses, although still long. There are additional pictures of this dress also on Anthropologie's site (BHLDN), including a lot of pictures of reviewers wearing the dress at weddings. I've seen the dress advertised at a floor length, and here it is shown closer to ankle length. Either way, the dress looks good. The sash, though serviceable, could be better quality, but as is, it doesn't detract from the quality of the dress. There are so many cool colors in this dress that buying additional ribbons for the dress should be easily done. This dress is from 2016, and there is a newer version on BHLDN that is almost identical but with a lower neckline and beautiful fall colors. Hopefully Amazon will have that for sale soon!

This is a lovely dress. I ordered a size 14 and it fit perfectly and was flattering in my size. I like that the sleeve covers a bit of the arm. The fabric is textured and makes it look more expensive but the one thing I did not like was that the colors are more dull than the photo represents. It is still very pretty but I would've liked the colors to pop a bit more. I would've also liked the belt to be out of the same fabric and not the poly/satin ribbon that comes with the dress.

The dress was even better quality than I expected. I'm wearing it to my daughter's wedding. The pattern of the fabric is exactly as shown, with a very subtle gold shimmer that was completely unexpected but adds a touch of elegance for a formal affair. It fits true to size and has a lining and overall has a bit of stretch to it. There's a long slit in the back so your movement won't be restricted. It won't wrinkle from sitting down. It's long, I'm tall 5'9" so that's ok for me but if you're shorter you'll likely need to have it hemmed. I have a long torso so the waist sits higher than my natural waist but a bit lower than an empire waist. Highly recommend this dress!

Mother of the Groom outfit. Stunning perfect fit dress for a wedding as mother of the groom. True to size and so happy with the design and colours. Tried on many dresses and this one beat all of them. Super quality dress. Would recommend

Robe achetée pour le mariage de ma fille. Plus que parfaite! Très élégante mais sans dépasser les bornes avec des paillettes ou une traîne. J’ai reçu beaucoup de compliments et si je veux, je peux la faire raccourcir pour la reporter.
