My groomer recommended this brush for my dog as he "molts" twice a year. I bought it and omg it does a fantastic job! It really gets down deep into the coat and pulls out the dead undercoat This brush will save my vacuum cleaner!! Bonus is that my dog LOVES this thing- it must feel good to get all that fur off.

I have four smooth coated border collies. Don't let that fool you, smooth does not mean no shedding. It just means the hair is not 6 inches long. They are working dogs with dense working coats, and that means they shed like a polar bear at certain times of the year. Usually on days that end in y. This rake actually *works* to claw all that dead wool out. Nor does it pull their coat or catch on snarls or irritate their skin. It just makes giant, glorious clouds of floating fluff to stick to your clothing, your face, and everything except the ceiling. And I can't swear for the ceiling if you happen to have cobwebs. I am genuinely impressed that this simple looking little thing that doesn't even have sharp points can drag out that much loose hair. I'm also impressed by how much fuzz a smooth-coated dog can produce, but then I didn't buy a Mexican hairless. If you have a hairy dog, buy this rake. It will work. And you can try to convince your spinning and knitting friends that dog hair makes an awesome sweater. :-)

Shed Magic makes some great tools to keep our pups looking good.Mudpuppys, our local groomer here in San Francisco, is an avid user of the Shed Magic and recommended it over the Fuminator since it doesn't irritate the skin and can be used more often.I ordered this particular model because on the Safari Pet Products website, they recommended the medium/long version for Shiba Inus.When I used the shed magic, it removed zero hair from my Shiba. Very disappointed. Found out a month later that the groomer actually uses the short/medium version of the shed magic.Vendor I got the brush from is very nice and shipped super fast even though it wasn't FBA. Extra points for them.

Works.Incredibly well.Unbelievably well.Have bought and tried numerous dog-grooming brushes/combs/shedding apparatus over the years, having multiple dogs, and multiple types of dogs and coats to groom. Currently have an ancient (16-ish year) old Labrador/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who is not brushed as often as he should be... because the tools we own SUCK.Furminator... kinda works... hard to unload. Teeth are rather sharp and can be dangerous if you hit a wart or two.Shedding rack... basically useless. Can't get Buddy's undercoat.Wire brush.... unpleasant for him, again can be harmful if you are careless.This Shed Magic device arrived today, and I immediately tried it. TREMENDOUS SUCCESS. The curved teeth/tines/fingers don't poke at the skin, but do extract the undercoat hair that seems terminally lodged. The rake kind of 'pulls' when it hits a stubborn patch, and the amount of dead hair it removes is unbelievable. The hair slides right out of the teeth too, in a manageable clump that tosses into the trash can. (or save it up to make another dog.)I may buy the short-hair version next, as we also have a few dogs in the pack who could stand to be brushed more frequently.Perhaps this tool will finally give the vacuum cleaner (and its operator!) a much-needed break.

This brush is AMAZING. I bought it on a whim hoping it would be gentle enough on my 90 lb fluffy boy to get his winter coat out. To my surprise, not only is he very tolerant of it, but it also does an absolutely mind-blowing job at de-shedding. I have a mutt and he struggles to blow his coat in time for summer so I’ve always helped by brushing and shaving as necessary. This brush, in about an hours time, had completely cleared almost half of his body of the old tufts of hair. I was so excited, I let my parents use it for their two dogs, and they then bought their own!

A great shedding tool. It gets right down there and removes the loose undercoat. Fast and easy without scratching the skin. My favorite and I hv tried many different shed tools

This brush is AMAZING - I just wish I had the patience and discipline to use it regularly. My dog is a medium-long-haired border collie so sheds a lot. This brush ALWAYS comes away with a lot of undercoat and seems not to bother the dog at all when brushing. Very easy to use and very good at its job. My dog is reactive so I cannot take her to a groomer - and this brush does what I think a groomer would do (if only I would do what a groomer would do!).

Does medium to some long coated breeds fabulous. I hoped it would help with our Samoyed but her bushy coat with dense soft under coat was too much

This product is amazing!My dog doesn't mind being brushed with it at all and it really gets the under coat out. Her coat was incredibly soft after I used it.I would highly recommend.

One of the best tools to groom your dog. It easy to use and it takes a lot of the loose undercoat off without hurting the dog or pulling on the fur or skin. This is a good buy!
