Easy to use and good so far
It's a lot easier to use it in drinks, especially tea and coffee. I just use little bit of cold water to bloom a half teaspoon of gelatin in the same cup I will make tea or put coffee in. It only takes a couple of minutes and meanwhile I will boil the water (for tea, with coffee I use my Keurig coffee machine to put coffee directly into the cup). Once the water is done boiling and I just pour it in the cup to mix with bloomed gelatin then I put the tea bag in it to make tea. I've been making it every day, but not sure it makes any difference to bone or tendon health yet, may be it's subtle and will take a while to notice. In any case we like it.

Like night and day from the grocery store brand!!!!
I began taking gelatin about 10 days ago in order to heal my gut. I had been having major digestive issues for about 3 months, so I went online to do some research and found a site that outlined a diet which consisted of consuming gelatin with every meal. There was no explanation as to why, so I did further research and discovered that gelatin is great for healing the gut! Not only did it aid in digestion, but another exciting fact was that gelatin heals "leaky gut syndrome," which causes various food intolerances. I have had intolerance to many common foods...especially eggs, which I love.As I continued my research, I saw that Great Lakes was recommended over the grocery store brands for its high quality of being hormone and antibiotic-free. I could not find any locally, so in desperation of needing relief from my stomach troubles, I decided to get some immediately...I did not care what brand, until I could get my order placed on Amazon. So, I began Knox gelatin last Thursday evening. I made some grape juice jello and I felt immediate relief in my stomach after eating it. Very soothing. So, I continued for the next few days. I noticed that I felt tired every time after eating it. I did sleep better. By Sunday, I saw that the skin on my face was looking scaly. The cysts in my breasts were becoming tender again...which, BTW, is a sign that I have ingested estrogen! Hormones!! Not good!!!I had placed my order on Amazon on Saturday, after deciding which form to buy. I decided to order one of each, the green and the orange...both bovine...to see which one I would like to take. I naturally love jello...so making jello was the fun and natural thing for me to do!My order arrived on Monday!!! Wow!! Very fast!! So, I immediately flushed all of the remaining Knox jello down the drain and started on the Great Lakes! I made some jello and also used the green can in my smoothies...the collagen hydrolysate. I ate less jello due to using the green can as well. Tuesday, I woke up feeling like my muscles had been pumped up ever so slightly....it's hard to explain, but I felt like I had a protective barrier over the surface of my body...and I felt refreshed! Yes...I am VERY senstive to my body! I slept very well and I did not feel tired upon awakening, like I did on the Knox brand. Day 2...Wednesday....I woke up with a groggy headache, although I still had that body protected sensation. Day 3 again, a headache. I rarely ever get headaches.I would say that I took less than the 2 TBSP per day. I don't know if I took too much for me...I am only 100 lbs. and was detoxing too quickly....thus the headache, or it does not agree with me. So, for now, I have stopped taking the green can and am enjoying just the jello...Love it, with grape juice and black cherry juice concentrate. I feel stronger already. I noticed today, that the skin on my face looks slightly more glowy and dewey....hmmm....very fast results!AND BTW....the breast tenderness went away after a couple of days of taking the GL brand. So, in addressing this person, who goes by "it's" I cannot believe that GL has hormones and antibiotics in it because my breasts are a great barometer in this regard. We eat mostly organic foods and we eat no meat with any hormones or antibiotics so my body has stayed clean in this vein for many years, so I can tell when my hormones are disturbed. So, I feel quite confident of this product and feel very good about using it. I do smell an odor when I pour the hot water to mix. It is not very pleasant...kind of like animal hide...but once it is mixed and congeals, I do not taste what I smelled. I tried mixing the green can with water one night and it had that same smell and taste to it, which I found unbearable...but I have been tested to be a super-taster (meaning I have high sense of taste). So, when I did take it, I put it in my smoothies and I could not taste it at all. I really loved cutting cubes of the jello and mixing it in my smoothies...soooo yummy!!! A real dessert-like treat!!!My husband does not like jello, so he is using the green can daily in his tea. He, who has been prone to frequent headaches...very severe at times, has had no problems with the green can...so, go figure!Too early to tell about joint issues, etc., but I highly recommend this brand over any other. I will report back when more time has passed to give more results. I can't wait to be able to eat more foods from my gut being healed!!Update: 4/12/14So, I have been taking gelatin for 2.5 weeks now. I can't believe the changes!!! My facial skin is plumper, so i look younger! My hair has body so it's fluffier, so that I don't have to wash it as often as before when it went flat the next day after a shampoo. My skin feels sooooooooo soft!! And I do feel stronger! Previously, I was not able to do push-ups on my palms...had to do them with my fists. I just happened to try one, and my wrists felt stronger!!! No pain when doing them! I actually did not have much joint pain to speak of, so I guess I don't notice any changes in that department. But, I surely to recommend this product, as it is certainly youthifying!!!I can't wait to see how I look and feel a month down the road, or even a year from now!!! My youth is certainly being renewed like the eagle's!! I must add, that I have been eating more brothy foods as well, since discovering that we need to be eating the whole animal for best nutritional balance, so it could also be adding to the mix, but on days when we just don't feel like soups...we can feel confident that we are getting what we need by eating gelatin in the form of jello with all our meals!

Love this gelatin, but i'm such a jello noob that i messed up the first time.
If it wasn't for a friend of mine who already used this product, i probably would of tossed it in the garbage after trying to use it the way the instructions suggest after the first time. So to help out anyone else, i'll post how i make jello here. I'll give you a quick recipe that i use to make cranberry juice jello.2 cups juice (i use lakewood cranberry juice, but you can use any kind of clear juice you want).2 tablespoons of great lakes gelatinsugar to tastea 3(or 4) cup pyrex container (a square or rectangular shaped one for the mold)a 2 cup pyrex measuring cup (for blooming the gelatin and measuring).i start off by mixing 1 cup of COLD juice with the 2 tablespoons of gelatin in the measuring cup.keep mixing till all the gelatin has been mixed with the juice, don't leave any chunks.then let sit for 5 mins. This will bloom the gelatin. After the 5 mins, dump the cup of juice/gelatin into the square pyrex dish, and then clean your measuring cup, then pouranother cup of juice into your measuring cup. I then microwave this cup for 2 minutes (maybe another minute after i test it)then take it out to measure the temperature. you want to try to get the liquid around 160F degrees. (should be pretty hot to the touch)then i mix in the sugar to taste, then add the hot liquid to the cold, and mix it.it should all be clear after you mix them together, and then i leave it sit on the counter for a few minutes, then put it in the fridge. It takes a few hours to harden.when i first tried to make this, i thought it was like other jello, where you mix it in with hot liquids.. which is a bad idea.. since you'll wind up with a wad of glue stuck onto your spoon. Then i tried to just mix it with cold water like the instructions said, but this never solidified. It turns out you have to mix with cold water, then apply hot water afterwards to activate it to harden.i hope this helps someone.************* Update *****************here is a marshmallow recipe:2 cups Sugar2 tablespoon Vanilla Extract3 tablespoons Gelatin (Great Lakes)1 cup WaterCoconut Oildirections:mix 1/2 cup of water and 3 tbls. gelatin, let bloom for 20 minutes.grease pyrex dish with coconut oil, and refrigerate to chillplace 2 cups of sugar in a pot with 1/2 cup of water. mix, and bringto boil. heat sugar till it hits 245F.using a kitchenaid mixer, add gelatin mixture to mixer bowl. (use wisk attachment.)slowly add the sugar into the mixer on low speed.once all sugar is added, increase to top speed.Keep mixing for 5 minutes (until it becomes marshmallowy!)at this point, add your vanilla or other flavorings.quickly pour marshmallow into pyrex bowl, and let sit for several hours.optional:after it has sat, you can cut into squares and roll in powdered sugar (and cornstarch optional).for chocolate marshmallows, i just use 2 tablespoons of chocolate extract, and 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder. Then powder it with a mix of cocoa powder and sugar.sometimes i use coconut extract and use coconut flakes on the outside.
