Good protection for your doors when parked in tight spaces
I really like this product, and I really hate door dings. If you don't care about door dings or your door already looks like a gold ball's surface, you can skip this product. I do care and my car doors and sides are ding free so far.I put this guard on the side of my parked car in the garage so when my daughter opens the back door of the adjacent parked car, she doesn't put a door ding into the protected car. I hope that makes sense. You do want to make sure you align it so the part of the door that would cause the damage will hit this guard first. This isn't the sort of thing I imagine taking with you and putting on in a store parking lot or mall lot, but I guess you could, just make sure you have enough to cover both sides and front and back doors (4 total?)This guard uses 2 medium sized suction cups to attach to the smooth/clean surface of the car. It won't work if the car is really dirty/dusty or you have gaps formed by trim. You will need to position it so the suction cups are on a continuous and smooth surface. This is made from a heavy rubber like material, so it's pretty flexible and about 1/8" thick. Its molded in a curve (top to bottom) with the high point in the center and has a rib/ridge on the back (against the protected car surface) that allows it to stand off the surface of the car, so when a door hits it, there's room (about 1/2") to absorb the movement before the material makes contact with the car. It's about 9" tall (top to bottom)I ended up buying 2 of these to attach to my parked car in my garage, one to cover the back door (daughter) and one to cover the front door (wife). The cars are parked in a 2 bay garage, side by side and within door striking distance of each other, so this guard really earns it's place! Consider that having a door dent removed costs $80, this is a bargain.

Would be better if it were longer
This thick silicone pad attaches to the door by a pair of suction cups. The cups need to be clean as does the car door to be effective in staying stuck. Good choice for aluminum door skins that will not take a magnetic door guard. The footprint of the silicone pad is a bit small - only a couple of feet wide, so placement on the door needs to be carefully considered to make sure it's properly positioned to block the opening of a neighboring car door into the pad. If properly positioned, then it is effective. Probably not worth using in public as it would be quickly stolen.

Not good
Had to send this back. It's hard plastic, not the soft that they advertise.

Excellent Simple Protection
I purchased this for use in my garage to keep by new car from getting door dings from my wife's SUV. Having kids jumping in and out of the SUV in close proximity resulted in the only dents I ever had in my last car.Based on the previous reviews I ordered magnets and other materials to change the basic way this bumper attaches. However, I discovered that it sticks just fine using the two included suction cups. I simply wet my finger and rub the suction cups prior to placement, and they stay stuck until I remove them. In terms of size, I parked the second car and simply lined up the pads in the middle of the 'strike zone'. They are more than big enough to cover the random parking distance fore, or aft, that my SUV might vary by. So far they've handled impacts extremely well with my young children flinging their door open into my new car with no damage whatsoever. You'd really have to throw the door into the bumper to create a broad dent and no bumper could protect against that.I've attached these to cars that are clean and not so clean and they attach fine, again if you wet the suction cups. I've been using mine for more than 6 months now and they are still sticking on just fine - never once fell off. On one occasion I accidentally left one on and when I got up to about 50 mph, I heard it banging against the door, so I pulled over and removed it with no damage to either the door or the bumper. That's firmly attached if you ask me.I definitely recommend these and will be buying more to protect the SUV.

Too small
Two issues. Not enou coverage I.e. too small. 2nd, it sometimes doesn't stick to the door as well as I would like it to stick.

Not What I Expected
I was expecting a clear, thin sheet or strip of plastic to protect the sides of the car in parking lots, for example. I expected that it could be left on the car and that you could drive with it on, rather than having to take it off and put it on each time you park. This door guard is thick, and not wide enough (unless you know exactly where the door of the car parking next to you is going to impact your door). Two little suction cups, one on each end, do not hold the "door guard" on over night, even with a freshly washed car door. You cannot drive with them on, obviously.

A hum dinger saver!
This is exactly what I needed when my 2 car garage shrunk. We have a 2 door Benz SL and then we traded the other 4 door mid size sedan for a 4 door Flord Flex behemoth. Now we can open the extra long Benz door to the max against the Flex with no dings, scratches etc. Instead of attaching the guard to the Flex door with the suction cups, I attached a light nylon twine to the guard using the prepunched holes and added a plastic hook to the middle of the string so I could hang the guard from the roof rail of the Flex. I didn't care for the suction cups being attached to and being removed from the paint finish at least twice daily. We are in the Chicago area and there's always some gritty dirt on the paint finish even after driving straight home from the car wash. By the way we love the Flex. If you need a big people and all their stuff mover go for it. The Flex is quiet, comfortable, powerful and high tech. I've never been a Ford product fan but Ford has come a long way! They have my business.
