Brixton Prison Unlocked: Anecdotes from a former prison officer

Great read the author gives the reader an insight into the dangers faced by Prison Officers on a daily basis. The author also shows the humour that helps them through their working day, The author importantly shows that he and all Prison Officers come from diverse back grounds they have wives, husbands and children as well as a social life outside of the prison.

This is for those with any experience in the job will know!

A good insight into the minds of the Brixton Prison Officers, some comic anectdotes, some poignant references and some long forgotten memories sparked back to life. The variety and uniqueness of the Officers job at Brixton shines through and it is a very good read. Thank you Alan. (Kinchin)

Great book.

I just could not enjoy it with all the spelling and grammar errors. The flow of the book didn’t really make a lot of sense. Some of the stories were interesting.

Gives a short but insightful look at prison from an Officers perspective.A very easy read that whets the appetite for more. I look forward to further tales from the hotel on the hill.

Memories revived and recalled from years gone by. Best days of my service. I recommend this book very highly.

I arrived there in 1991 so remember some of the stories and was lucky enough to meet and work with some of the people.A good read.
