It is a very good book to get information on sequoia parks
It's a informative book that is well written. The author tells about the well established trails, but to me leaves out some of the more recent established trails. It is a very good book to get information on sequoia parks.

Great Book for Great Trips
A very informative book for anybody looking to get into the backcountry of SEKI. The trail descriptions were accurate and the rating system for solitude, scenery, etc was helpful. I also found the introduction portion of the guidebook quite helpful as well. This will be my go-to guidebook for several more trips to SEKI in the coming years.

useless!
absolutely terrible. Gives no information on where to find wildlife and is extremely boring. I was really excited about this book and I ended up donating. Get the falcon guide instead, its amazing!

Poor for foot-based visitors and not for through hikers
Bought this book as the Kindle edition - and returned it almost immediately: The hike descriptions are all for vehicle-based visitors. At least 3/4 of the book describe features along the two highways, complemented by many short walks and a few longer round (or in-out) hikes. It is not possible to plan a longer backpacking hike not exactly following the prescribed trails, e.g. getting on foot trails from the southern Foothills Vistors Centre to Giant Forest. From the sketch-maps, in all cases I've tried, it was not possible to establish cross-connections between the circuits. The book may be helpful to plan car-based hikes though, where you need to get back to your starting point. This, however, is available free of charge on many internet sites... BTW, the pictures in the Kindle edition are also fairly dull and the maps are small (narrow) and poorly legible on my PC screen. I can not judge the precision of the trail descriptions.
