without reading other user reviews, got one for 10yr old to clip to back of life jacket while we are surfcasting for striped bass on beaches at nite so I can keep track of himWe have both been so happy with it that I actually took time to write a reviewin response to some of the unknown mentioned issues, this is what we found so farTo attach to life vest rather than wasting zip ties, use a Small water bottle carabiner/ clip holds it very securely Bought as we were going thru a glow stick every nite whether we fished for 1 hour or 8.This has been a much more flexible optionIt has been wet with saltwater several times, even thru a self- inflating life vest deployment, and withstood fresh water wash downs.The light it emits, esp green is extremely bright, even under bright moon conditions. Dark nites it has been almost too bright. plenty of light emits well thru the full length and with the easy twist off top the end emits enough to be used to light way when walking in emergencies when he lost his headlight in the ocean.To make charging easier was able to install a magnetic charger tip that we use on all of our various household electronics and the cap is able to securely lock on.has lasted and recharged within spec guidelines with no issues.Highly recommend

Used these for Halloween with the rotation of light was able to monitor 10 kids. Also the kids like them. Battery life is about 8hr.

Purchased this for our son for a night light. It's great except not that long of battery life. Has to be charged more than once every 24 hours.

Bought this to walk my 10 lb dog in the dark. I use it for 30 minutes every morning, and 30 minutes every night, and have to charge about once every two weeks. I clip it on the leash and it works well to alert cars and other walkers. Highly recommend.

Bought this to help my baby be entertained while in the car seat at nighttime. (Supervised. I sit next to him in backseat.) Him and his 2 year old sister fight over it. Ordering another one!

Works as advertised. These pictures were taken on my phone so they were on the "auto-expose" setting so they may look way brighter than they actually are, but they are pretty close to Cyalume brand chem-lights in terms of illumination (the material of the "stick" is bend-able fiber-optic-like material, so for full brightness you need to place it against something so the light has something to reflect off of, otherwise the light travels almost straight through the fiber optics and out of the bottom). The packaging says 8.5 hours, left it on overnight and timed it, woke up the next morning and sure enough it lasted around 8.5~ish hours, which is how long Cyalume brand chem-lights ACTUALLY last for (they say 12 hours, but they only maintain true brightness for 8~ish hours, the remaining 4 hours they are very dim). Recharges in about 1.25 hours, like it says on the box.One thing I haven't tested at the time of this review is how "tough" and how truly waterproof it is. I mean, I can submerge it in the sink and it still works LOL, so I guess there's that. Seems well built enough to chuck at a wall and have it still work...but I haven't really taken it out for a real stress test so who knows. Overall pretty good for 12 bucks.

Better than using those crappy light bands they give you at the game
