Same exercises as the English edition, but with Spanish titles
These are the same exercises as in the classic Dozen A Day book, but with the titles in Spanish instead of English. As a result, non-Spanish-speaking students learn not only the piano exercise, but also Spanish words like "brincando"!As to the piano aspect, these are classic books that may be outmoded by newer pedagogy, but I view them as starting material. If I see a certain physical issue (such as flattening of fingers), I'll address that through extra exercises if necessary. If a new concept is introduced, I can take the time to have a conversation about theory and maybe some extra practice. (For example, when grace notes are introduced, we can do grace note exercises up and down the keyboard. For older students, when an abbreviated V7 chord shows up, we can talk about scale degrees and chords built on them and their harmonic function. Etc.)If an older student is looking to learn the piano without a teacher for whatever reason, I would NOT recommend the Dozen A Day books. Instead, choose a series with written explanations and illustrations, such as the Bastien older beginner piano course. Of course, ideally, you should always learn with a teacher if possible, but I do realize that it is not always an option.
