This outfit is absolutely adorable! My daughter is a slim 7-year old, and we ordered the medium size. The waist and belt were a little big, and the skirt came down to just below her knees, but she didn't seem to mind. When I order, I believe too big is better than too small! However, it is large enough that she should be able to wear it for 50's day next year as well as using it for dress-up until then. She wore the outfit all day for 50's day at school and said it was very comfortable. The skirt has a bit of crinoline sewn in the underside to give the skirt some body, and the faux fur trim around the neckline is a nice touch. My daughter's favorite part was the sequined dog leash and fuzzy dog on the skirt. She received many compliments on the outfit, and we loaned it out to a couple of her friends at other schools that had 50's days after ours. The entire outfit is well made, and I believe it will stand up to many more play days. It's gone through three kids and three school days this week alone and still looks new! Please note that the socks and shoes in the photo do not come with the outfit (which my daughter didn't want anyway), but we did add a pair of cat-eye glasses to complete her look. I used a low-heat setting on my iron, and ironed the skirt from the backside so I wouldn't damage the sequins. It worked perfectly.I am so pleased with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this outfit to anyone needing a poodle skirt for dress-up or 50's day.

Bought for a “sock hop” themed daddy/daughter dance. Fabric is pretty flimsy, so we put a tank top and shorts on underneath. But otherwise the sizing was pretty accurate and it looked super cute!

Super cute outfit! Only issue is that it runs a little big. The top is a bit baggy and was falling off my daughters shoulders. We used safety pins it in the back to hold it up. It was hit for her school Sock Hop Day though.

Looks authentic at a glance, which is about right for an elementary-school "sock hop". Items were well enough constructed. Medium fit sturdy 7/8 with a little room, although made baggy-looking with undershirt on. Open it in time to steam out wrinkles, because it will be wrinkly.Unfortunately, items can be missing on arrival, so check package carefully! Ours was missing the belt, which doesn't have any functional purpose, but is a big visual part of the costume and was extremely noticed by the intended wearer. Ultimately, we had to go with it as-is, but it was really disappointing - it had felt like a win to get it so quickly, then like I should have paid extra to get it at the local party store, instead, so I could run back for one with a belt :(

My difficult to shop for daughter LOVED this costume for Halloween. It runs a bit large so we ended up using a paperclip to secure the belt to itself around her smal waist, but she continues to wear the headband to school regularly. The quality was good (for a Halloween costume anyway), and the colors were vibrant as pictured.
