Spiritual Solutions: Answers to Life's Greatest Challenges

There is always more to a situation (issue/challenge) than meets the "eye." First appearances of a matter are just a way of bringing your attention to what needs correcting in your life. Instead of staying at the "level" of the problem, rise above it and try to see what message is being communicated to you via the situation at hand. Deepak Chopra does it AGAIN with "Spiritual Solutions." When I thought that even HE would run out of steam, there came "Spiritual Solutions" with all the answers to questions ruminating in my mind. According to Deepak, there are three levels of awareness about a problem or situation: 1. Contracted Awareness, where you stay at the level of the problem 2. Extended Awareness, where you begin to sense/know that there is more to the problem than meets the eye. 3. Pure Awareness, where you are able to recognize the situation for what it is and respond from a higher level. "This is the level where no problems exist," Chopra writes. "Every challenge is a creative opportunity. You feel completely aligned with the forces of nature."The book was thoughtfully presented, getting to the heart of the "spiritual solutions" in the beginning by offering right upfront the three levels and how we can identify where we are in terms of "awareness." I especially felt soothed to know that there is a reason for my "sometimes" impulsiveness and also my irritation when people HIDE their "agendas," with me immediately distrusting/disassociating from them. The third section, Q&A, is a great offering. Questions were thoughtfully chosen so as to provide comprehensive insights (answers) into questions challenging many on a daily basis. The fourth/final section was awesome: Creating Your Own Solutions. This gets to the heart of the matter of spirituality, i.e. all answers lie within ourselves and that our "true self" always is communicating with us. "Strongly Recommend" for those on spiritual path!

I have quite several of Deepak's books and wondered if this one would be different or a repeat of the same thing put in different ways. The kindle preview was too short and the reviews had two extreme sides so I checked the book at the local bookstore. After having read the reviews on Amazon I was curious on the Q&A section so I looked there first. And I burst out laughing and I don't mean to disrespect anyone. The questions were a great variety of problems faced through life. I can understand how some people got upset by the answers given especially when it involved family and loved ones. Some of the answers were blunt but there were also a lot of high praises where called for. He did warn the solutions were at a level different from the wide general. And I did gain some new insights so I am happy with my purchase.

Though the reader doesn't get all the context of letters to the author, Chopra repeatedly hits home on a point that many spiritual seekers do much to avoid: get real here and now. I particularly appreciate the direct language Chopra uses, though some may feel that it is harsh. Many of us have spent too much time in soft responses that keep us stuck and perpetuating our personal illusory "reality." Understand what we manufacture, where we get stuck and then get real. Once we let go of illusions, we open to magnificent creative power. It's the spiritual path that leads us back to meet with ourselves, aka the true self. Follow the steps laid forth in this book and the seeker can come to relief and rest accepting their human condition to be absolutely divine.

According to Chopra life's struggles often provide purpose and relevance to our lives. Through expanded awareness and being open to gently seek answers, the solution to our struggles will come; the right solution will avail itself as we open ourselves up to all the possibilities that exist. By releasing our tight grip that we so fervently hold our struggles with, and allowing space, actual solutions will begin to manifest, often showing up in ways we never would have imagined. Chopra does a wonderful job of clarifying that our desires manifest from knowing and connecting with our true self, being open and willing to receive solutions will bring about the peace and harmony we desire; ultimately recognizing that the unity of our consciousness is the driving force for each and every one of us.

SPIRITUAL SOLUTIONS TAKE YOU ON A RIDE THAT YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO GET OFF. DR. CHOPRA LAYS IT OUT ON THE LINE AND ALLOWS YOU TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE, BELIEFS, AND FOCUS ON ALL THINGS POSITIVE. HE IS SO WELL VERSED, INSPIRING, CONSCIOUS, AND ENLIGHTENING. I TRULY FEEL BLESSED WHEN I READ HIS BOOKS, LISTEN TO HIS MEDITATIONS AND FOLLOW HIS TEACHINGS. I HAVE BEEN ON A JOURNEY FOR MANY YEARS TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPIRITUALITY AND RELIGION. IT TOOK ONE READING OF ONE OF HIS BOOKS TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND WHAT THE DIFFERENCES ARE. HIS BOOKS, AND ESPECIALLY THIS ONE KEPT ME YEARNING FOR MORE, SO I BOUGHT MORE. I JUST LOVE HIM WITH HIS HUMBLE DEMEANER, AND OUTLOOK ON LIFE. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM IN OUR MIDST. I WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW HIS TEACHINGS AND READ MORE OF HIS BOOKS. THANK YOU

I would recommend this book to anyone looking to change the way they react to the world. Or anyone who is looking for answers to their own great questions. Deepak delves into causes and shows the way out for every imaginable challenge type. The way he answers the question, he supplies soo much information. It is possible to gain real understanding for how we are creating our lives the way they are, and then what can be done by each individual to remedy their challenge. I don't want to put it down, but I cannot read all day long. I also like to savor the solutions, as they are given.I liked every thing about this book

This book is wonderful for anyone who has a 'deep inner yearning' to enhance their life & gain more spiritual knowledge & truth about life and relationships. It gives good examples of life's 'so called problems' & challenges and gives a great insight on how to solve them from a philosophical/spiritual angle, which is exactly what I wanted. I haven't read a book yet by Deepak, that I haven't found totally inspiring.

Love it - Deepak is so easy to listen to to - he is a gifted writer and each time I listen to it I hear something new

This is a must-read, must-keep, and must-recommend book, not only to those seeking answers to the so many "why?s", but to all whom you care about so they will undertake a happier journey in their life. I was skeptic at first, having bought it upon my friend's insistence. I was then totally engrossed as suddenly life matters begun to make sense indeed... and so easily. A life-changing! A+++
