You know as soon as you pick it up
Tools are great, we use them to build and repair. There is nothing better than a great tool. Most people have one or two hammers, I have two drawers full of hammers. The right tool for the job. The only thing I would change about this hammer is I wish one face was milled and the other was smooth. It would make it more versatile. Another great Estwing hammer, indisputable quality

Another fine estwing hammer.
Slowly working on owning one of everything estwing makes..... I am a timber farmer, and I bought this as a tapping hammer with the hopes that it would not mar timbers too much that need some convincing. It works well.

A VERY ACCURATE AND WELL BALLANCED HAMMER.
I Wish I could have found a lineman's hammer with a leather handle like an old raggedy one I used to have. It might have been a Klein, but I don't remember. I bought an Estwing rock pick with a leather handle, but couldn't find any brand of lineman's hammer with leather. The rubber handle is fine, but I would have gladly paid more for leather... just because.

Can’t kill an estwing hammer
You want a milled face you got it. Smooth face, you got it. Durable little sucker, can’t kill an estwing hammer. Got this to pair with my 3lb estwing shop hammer and it’s now the first thing I grab out of the truck

Coolest Hammer On Earth
I carry this hammer everywhere. It's like my security blanket, security being the optimum word. There are many places where carrying any kind of weapon is absolutely not permitted; in a major city, on the road in a strange state... Several years ago, my family and I went on a 25 day bus tour of Europe. I knew I couldn't take a gun (I wouldn't do that anyway). Also, any knife big enough for defence would have been unthinkable, as would a hatchet. I racked my brain. What could I take to defend my hotel room (or myself if I had to walk in a strange place after dark) something that would be totally acceptable to a sticky foreign customs agent? You guessed it, a nice, heavy, two headed hammer. It won't snag on your clothes, or your car's upholstery. This hammer fits just the bill. Compact enough to fit in a day pack, yet heavy enough (especially when welded with two hands) to cause serious trouble for a would-be criminal. If it's good enough for Thor...it's good enough for me. As with all Estwing tools, absolutely top-notch construction. It will last you the rest of your life with minimum care.

Awesom Hammer
When my kids broke the handle on my 2lb engineering (horseshoeing) hammer smashing nails into "swords" on my anvil, I knew it was time to upgrade... This one will never lose it's head, and has shock absorption built in to the handle. The head centers the mass so that it doesn't twist as much as a traditional engineering hammer. An excellent blacksmithing or horseshoeing hammer.
