Never had issues with Dezcal, so it's what I use. My water isn't that hard, so I cannot speak for how it would perform on heavily scaled devices. For my espresso machines and hot water pots, Dezcal has worked as it should.

I gave it only 4 stars because one of the packets came torn somehow and spilled product all over everything when I opened the package.

Descales my superautomatic espresso machine beautifully! I have learned to run the descale cycle with the Dezcal per the instructions with my machine and then rerun the descaling cycle with all plain water. On one occasion the descaling liquid didn't get fully removed and it kind of clogged my machine. It wasn't a huge deal...a little alarming first thing in the morning before I had my first coffee...but running another descaling cycle with plain water took care of it. Now I descale with the Dezcal fluid and descale a second time with clear water to really rinse everything out and I've had no issues.
