The Pro Video Accessories 3 Feet BNC Female to DIN 1.0/2.3 RG-59 Cable is necessary for connecting devices that employ the smaller DIN 1.0/2.3 connectors to devices that use the more common BNC connection. This is used primarily for 3G/HD/SD-SDI and genlock transmission. This also has DIN 1.0/2.3 connection (also known as Mini DIN) which include RED and Blackmagic Design (for its Hyperdeck line).

Exactly what you need to connect BlackMagic HyperDeck
Note that the other end is BNC FEMALE - i.e. you can't plug them directly into the BNC SDI sources/destinations, but they serve more like DIN-to-BNC adapters. I.e. you connect the regular BNC SDI cable you would normally connect to a full-size BNC SDI out of a receiver/monitor to it. Bottom line - they work. Both in and out can be plugged in at the same time, there is enough spacing. The only complaint is the price - it's been a while since I had to pay so much for 3 feet of coax cable.

Got the job done, just...
I used these to interface with a Blackmagic Quad, the connections on the DIN side seemed finicky at best. They had to be positioned just right to make it work. YMMV
