This is a book about acceptance and finding peace in our movements in all ways during our life. I have thought many times how the simplest activities are the most poignant and ones that I would miss the most.I have noticed that my trip to Thailand 50 years ago seems dreamlike but a conversation with someone back then or a marriage ritual seems more real. Being truly present in our mind for the meaningful connections is the stuff of living.Robert is masterful at seeing life!

As is usually with Fulghum's writing, taking the first step of leaving your cynicism behind and then listening to what he says will transport you. Pause. Reflect.

I purchased this book because I was looking for the official version of the Robert Fulghum quote to use in my wedding service. Not only was I able to access the quote, which made for a beautiful reading at our Unitarian ceremony, but the entire book was thought provoking and moving. I read this in advance of our wedding, and re-read some portions on our honeymoon, and it was perfect for this stage in my life when I'm thinking about my lifetime and what I hope to accomplish and experience in and it and in my marriage.

Wonderful book filled with great thoughts, ideas, and insights along with some of the experiences of the author used as examples for many of the rituals of our lives. I love the way the author thinks and writes. An interesting and enjoyable read and a great source for planning for many of life's events. Anyone could benefit from reading this book.

This book was recommended by a friend because I was wondering why the fact my daughter is getting married - and having a fairly traditional wedding - was such a source of emotion for so many people. I found Robert Fulghum's words and insights exceptionally helpful, thought provoking and comforting. I send a copy to my daughter and her fiancé! Today, we have all calmed down and are experiencing joy. I will continue to remind myself of why rituals are important and accept that drama is just a part of it. What matters is the celebration of these two people who genuinely love each other.

It's impossible to explain the mixed emotions of greeting your firstborn so with finishing this book...you never quite know where the child will take you just so when you finish this book...the reading may be done but the draw to life goes on.

I love Robert Fulghum's writing style and thoughts. This book does not disappoint. It is a beautiful read.
