Goes against all basic human instincts to eat this! Taste strongly like seawater and fish with god knows what other cr*p we dump in the oceans. Avoid!

Tasty and easy to add on a daily basis and get all the nutritional benefits at a great price
At 32 pence for a daily serving this is not only a super food with excellent credentials but also good value for money. I like seaweed and use it in the dried sheet form as it provides such a wide range of minerals that we often miss out on, in particular magnesium, selenium, copper calcium, phosphorus, potassium, vitamins A, B and E. Seaweed is a good source of iodine too but unfortunately evaporates when heated so if you want to benefit from it add the seaweed at the end of your cooking process, I like to add it to my salad dressing. It is very important to me that it is non –GMO, gluten-free, raw, vegan and manufactured with no additives. I hadn’t realised that this baby seaweed is going to get less exposure to heavy metals and toxins unlike the older seaweed I usually buy.I can’t recommend it highly enough. It has a best before date of 25.05.2021 but now that I have found this easy to use form of baby seaweed I’ll be using it daily so will need some more in 6 weeks time. In future I’ll buy 2 packets every 3 months to benefit from the free delivery by getting it this way.Very fast delivery despite the testing conditions at this time.

You get a lot of the product, strong flavour
It’s like putting a spoonful of the sea in your mouth – when I tried this straight of the spoon I was transported to the seaside!Pros: Lots of product, organic, airtight packaging and environmentally friendlyCons: A little stalky when rehydrated, a little too strong for my likingI was very pleased to receive this product as I’m vegetarian and love seaweed – especially in Asian cooking. The first thing I noticed is the packaging is absolutely full, so you have to be careful when opening or you might lose some.Once the product is open, there’s plenty of space. I took a big sniff and it smells good quality: salty snd a bit fishy.I tried a spoonful straight from the spoon and it was like standing on a stormy beach – when you can taste the sea air. I’ve never had that sensation from a product before. The packaging lists that it’s suitable for vegans but due to the nature of where the product comes from, could contain traces of fish / shellfish.I used this with my miso to make a broth and it tasted delicious, the only thing I did find was that it was a little more stalky than to what I’m used to when rehydrated.

Natural taste enhancer...
I often use Tamari or Shoyu as a seasoning in soups and sauces in place of salt, it gives a lovely savoury 'umami' flavour along with the salt. So I thought these Numami Organic Wakame Flakes might make an interesting alternative that still might give that umami kick but offer some useful nutrition too. It seems to work and although the flavour of these flakes is salty and seaweed-y, which is no big surprise, it's subtle and when added to soups it blends in and gives a nice savoury enhancement to the soup without making your soup taste of seaweed.I use about a dessertspoonful to a litre of soup and that's enough to enhance the flavour without altering it significantly. I take a lot of the nutritional claims made for it with a pinch-and-a-half of salt, but seaweed is usually very rich in minerals and so a worthwhile addition to your diet. The pack is quite pricey but the quality seems excellent and the flakes can be sprinkled as a garnish or used as a seasoning so you don't need to use a lot at one time. Worth a try.

amazing packaging but also lovely in our noodle dishes
We received this product as part of the Amazon Vine programWe love seaweed and regularly have seaweed strips to eat as is or with Asian style dishes. We were therefore keen to try this product with Vine. Here are our thought on this Seaweed:-• Security sealed properly as you have to cut the top off to open.• The closing seal is brilliant – we could hear the seal engage when closing so we could be sure we had properly closed it.• The packaging is well designed. Everything is laid out well, easy to understand and has maximum impact. We normally struggle trying to see the NRV values but this design is great, making a point to call out the important nutrient content.• Best before is easy to find and not short dated but have 9-10 months left on ours.• This seaweed is harvested before it had a chance to fully grow. This apparently reduces the time the plants have to less time for heavy metal exposure. We have no way to test this but logically makes sense and we like this concept.• Vegan suitable – tick!• Non-GMO – tick!• Organic certified – tick!• Recipe QR code – nice touch!• Biodegradable packaging which includes the seal. This is interesting as we thought the seal was plastic.• Fresh tasting but a little salty compared to our normal brand so we prefer this in food over snackingOverall recommendation – one of the best food packing we’ve ever seen - all biodegradable and easy to read. No need to strain your eyes to get the NRV percent of the minerals in the seaweed. For us this is best served in our cooking rather than raw as a snack. Still cant believe the seal isn't plastic. If this is in your price point and you like a saltier seaweed then this is definitely worth a purchase!
