I previously used a Braun Silk-épil, which was more efficient, so I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5. This one works well and is much cheaper, but it’s a bit slower. It seems to grab fewer hairs per pass, so it takes longer to do a full leg. That said, it still gets the job done and it’s nice and quiet while working!

I’m used to using an epilator, so I know what that sort of sensation is like — and this one is more comfortable than my older model. I’ve only used it on my underarms and legs so far, and it does the job well without causing too much fuss. The charge lasts a long time, and it’s never run out mid-session, which is a big plus.

Its great ! i used a braun one for years and tried this , its great . Once you get used to the curve and attachments you can use lots of different ways! Also in the bath or shower but sometimes does not get all the hairs

This is the least effective epilator I have ever owned. You have to go over the same spot at least 10 times to get the hairs. I’m not sure why it’s curved the way it is - that makes it even less effective as the tweezery bits can’t reach your skin properly and so it mostly ends up trimming your hair rather than epilate it and pulling it out from the root. I have very sparsely located leg hairs and as such, it normally takes about 3 mins to shave my legs. This took half an hour to do just one leg because it wouldn’t catch the hairs. The light is very useful, to really point out how useless this device actually is. I gave up after the first leg and just shaved instead. Very disappointed by this product - which is surprising as I’ve got the facial epilator from Philips and that is excellent. I had a lot of faith in Philips’ products before - not sure how they dropped the ball so hard on this one.

I have very mixed feelings about this product and I was very close to returning it until I tried the shaving attachment. I was hoping this would be an upgrade on my old Braun Silk Epil 5 on the basis that it is more expensive and therefore more premium. Unfortunately as an epilator it is only okay. I am very familiar with epilating and know all the tricks, pulling skin taut, going over in little circles and so on, so I don't think it is user error when I find that I can feel tons of micro hairs when I run my fingers over areas I have just epilated. While it is possible hair is growing in at different rates (despite letting it grow out knowing an epilator was soon to arrive) my suspicion is that the epilator is unintentionally either slicing or snapping some hairs and leaving a feeling like a dull shave rather than hairless skin. I was ready to return it until I tried the shaver attachment. It did require going over the same areas a couple times and isn't the absolute best shave I've ever had, but it was so easy compared to the fuss of a shower and disposable razors that I think I will probably keep it. My lingering concern is that I don't know how long the shaving head lasts before it needs replacing. The instructions that come with the device are next to useless as they only show diagrams and have no text instructions at all. A lot of the diagrams depict individual parts of accessories as being detachable but I can't see how. The diagrams of the shaving head in particular show a bottle of "OIL" be applied once every 6 months, but what kind of oil, whether Phillips recommend a particular product for the job or whatever is unclear. My ultimate concern was to save money by ditching disposable razors and the shaver achieves that, but I don't think I'll be using the epilator attachment as often.

Cela faisait 1 mois que je cherchais un épilateur efficace qui puisse remplacer mon Braun silk 5. Je voulais un produit plus puissant, avec une meilleure autonomie car mon ancien épilateur n'était pas du tout efficace et me faisait perdre beaucoup de temps à devoir repasser sur les zones. Je suis très satisfaite de l'épilateur Philips serie 8000, en plus d'avoir une jolie couleur il rend mes deux jambes et cuisses douces en 20 min (contre 45min avec le Braun). Un seul passage est nécessaire pour que les poils soient arrachés avec le bulbe. Par contre, les personnes n'ayant pas l'habitude vont le trouver très douloureux.

The best epilator. If you are in doubt, forget the other one, this is perfect. It's less painful than my last one, easy to hold and the shave head works perfectly.
