I lost 8 pounds on the plan in 7 days!
I was not a big tea drinker, but gave the plan a try because I wanted to lose some weight and kick my addiction to diet soda, which I had read makes you crave sweets even more and is full of nasty chemicals. In the past I found that drinking coffee all the time affected my sleep patterns, so I thought maybe tea would be better. It really was. I have never before been able to give up diet soda without massive headaches, but on this plan it was no big deal at all. I actually felt better and clearer mentally, rather than worse.I lost 8 pounds on the plan in 7 days, as part of the original test panel. I was never hungry or really craving specific junk foods, and I never got a headache. Most of the time I was occupied with preparing and drinking tea and the smoothies, so I didn't feel like I was waiting to eat something. The only problem I did experience was that I became a little bit dehydrated by about the third day. It takes me about half an hour to brew and drink a 10 oz cup of tea vs. about 5 minutes to open and guzzle a 20 oz diet coke, so my fluid consumption went down until I realized this and made an effort to drink more water.I don't have a blender at work, but I found that making the smoothies at home in the morning and carrying them in a big travel mug was pretty easy. I also don't really cook, so I was intimidated by the recipes, but I ended up just eating foods that followed the principles of the plan, like a broiled chicken breast and a salad or vegetable, rather than making the exact specific recipes. I was able to stick close enough to the plan to lose the weight without learning the specific recipes or even figuring out where to find the ingredients in the grocery store. This is a plan that anyone can follow, and assuming you have some weight to lose, you will lose it.

Definitely Works!
UPDATE-So it's been a while (8 mos) since I completed the cleanse. I went to visit my parents the week following the cleanse and put back on 3 pounds (my dad makes grits, eggs and bacon every day) but stuck with the teas. I have really cut back on my food intake, but not crazy. I eat an egg with avocado on whole wheat for breakfast, a soup or salad for lunch, and a sensible dinner (cooking light recipes are great) I haven't given up my daily glass of wine. I walk a few miles a few days a week.As of today I'm down over 20 lbs since I started the cleanse!!!I really watch my sugar intake and if I eat bad one day or one meal I really dial it back the next day or so. Over all I feel great and continue to lose. So the teas really worked for me. If I eat crappy food (fried stuff, pizza, too many chips) I really feel terrible so now I just avoid it.So I was very skeptical at first - I don't love hot tea (as a southerner, I drink iced tea) but needed to jump start for weight loss. Let's face it you can't drink wine every night and put coleslaw on everything & expect to be thin. After a disgruntled shopping trip & a come to Jesus meeting with my bathroom scale, I gave the 7 Day Tea Cleanse a go. The first day went surprisingly well. It felt good not to feel so full all the time and I enjoyed the green tea iced with lemon. Tried a Lemon-Hibiscus tea for the 3pm tea time - didn't like it. Found some plain lemon tea I really enjoy. Also, I did the Yerba Mate green tea for the 7am - not as hard on your stomach as green tea and gives you energy without the caffeine jitters. I incorporated the 15-30 min. morning strolls like the book says, and usually another walk in the evening. The Banana Peanut butter shake is really quite tasty. I don't drink milk so I used almond milk instead. Otherwise I followed the plan & menus to the tee. The second day was probably the toughest - I felt hungry and wondered if I would make it through the week. By day 4 I could feel & see the difference in my body & really didn't get hungry until 5 or 5:30. By day 6 I felt like a champ. And day 7 I was very pleased with the result, and adopted many of the recipes and habits to my routine to keep loosing weight. All in all I lost 8 lbs, which is pretty good IMO for a 7 day deal. I will say you do realize what hard work it is just to take off 8lbs - you'll think twice about your food choices & portions. My metabolism feels like it reset, my stomach shrank so now a normal sized portion is filling (no second helpings) and I have stuck with many of the teas, not going back to coffee. The lesson I learned is you don't really need as much food as you think you do. And the recipes for dinners are actually pretty good, even my husband liked them. I love Thai food - the Sesame Noodles with chicken & Thai Chicken Curry are both in the regular rotation now, as are the shakes when I don't have time for lunch or breakfast. Also, you learn to eat at 7pm (instead of 8:30pm like I had been doing). So all in all, if you follow the plan it will do what it says - but be prepared to stick with it. You will need to work hard & be determined, and you don't want to get to day 5 and blow it over birthday cake at work.

You will probably lose weight BUT...
Yes, you will most likely lose weight with this BUT you will be hungry. Basically, it asks you to eat only two meals a day and one of those "meals" is a tea smoothie and there's no breakfast in sight. So if you're good with waiting till 7pm to eat an actual meal for the first time all day, then by all means go for it, but I'm starving and it's only 3pm. Now with that said, I gave it three stars because it does have a lot of good information pertaining to teas and adding 5 cups of tea a day can't really hurt right? It will help me drink more water and cut back on craving soda or juice. As well, there's an added bonus of information about healing herbs and what works well with the woman's body when it's her lovely time of the month. Over all not a bad book, I just wouldn't recommend following the suggested meal plan in it.
