4 Gauge Red 25ft Power/Ground Wire-Copper Clad Aluminum CCA-True 4 AWG Power Wire-True Spec and Soft Touch Cable (Red)

There’s a reason this is cheap, it’s CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) it’s not pure copper. You can feel it the moment you handle it, the stuff is light and very bendy owing to the ductility of aluminum and the high strand count. This wire will have very low skin resistance at high frequencies owing to the count and cladding. But for DC current this wire is going to be inferior to copper, period. It’s 70% aluminum and that aluminum which is the dominant makeup of the wire is only 61% as conductive as copper.The aluminum has poor tensile strength comparatively and is much softer so it may behave very differently when crimped. A crimp connector and die that’s worked well for you on copper may behave strangely on this CCA. The only place this wins is cost and weight.It has more resistance (heaps more) a higher tempco, is more brittle, will crimp a bit funny etc. It is cheap tho…

Ease of installation

I was going to use this to wire a sub box at the house but ended up getting some #4 copper wire at home depot that wasn't as fine as this wire. This wire would be very easy to bend but I thought it might be harder to get a good connection on a breaker

Bought these wire for marine amplifier install these wire take a beating I run my sound system 9-10 hours a day on a boat trip haven't melted or deteriorated

It's easy to maneuver into places you want it to go

It’s good but the casing is not as thick as what I was expecting so the black is more like brown. Now the wire is good multi strand which is what I was expecting. I am using this for extra batteries in a 5 th wheel trailer to run an inverter also the replace the little 10 gauge wiring in the trailer. By using a #4 cable the batteries charge better also better for power supply. SO I WOULD STILL RECOMMEND this product!!!
