I bought this book because my young daughter was showing an interest in house floorplans, and she liked designing them before building them in an online building game.This book is a literal treasure trove of floorplans, with nearly every possible architectural style represented. Each glossy page includes a residential plan with photos of the house exterior, along with some commentary about its notable features. It's actually a catalog of plans you can purchase from homeplans.com, so I can't say how useful it is if you are an architect or home builder, or looking for educational material.It does tend toward run-of-the-mill "McMansion" style houses, and there isn't a ton of modern or minimalistic designs, so if that's what you want you should look elsewhere.As far as raw material to fuel home design fantasies, or to get ideas of how different styles of houses would look as a floorplan, this book is an unbeatable value. I certainly enjoyed leafing through it, and it's a hit with my daughter. Would recommend 10/10.

I collect house plans. I have them from many different geographic areas, and some date back to the 1700's. I like to read them because they help me to understand different values that people have, and the adjustments they make predicated on climate. This book is HUGE. It's also heavy, REALLY HEAVY -- meaning to read it, you have to sit at a desk or lay on your stomach in bed.The plans truly run the gamut from 200 sf tiny houses to gargantuan 8,000+ sf monsters. Until I read this book, I'd never seen a house plan with a place for an indoor pool, a basketball court, a locker room, TWO wine cellars, and other single-purpose rooms ALL IN ONE HOUSE. (I am not making this up - and no, I have no understanding of why someone would want all that, because if you own it, you need to clean it). My favorite plan is a 1,700 sf plan with ONE bedroom. It's nicely arranged, and if I was rich, got divorced, and no one ever came to visit, I think I'd build it. Sorry, I digress....I'm not getting divorced, and people come to visit and stay over on a regular basis so that's never happening....If you like seeing a huge variety of plans, this is a great book. I docked one star because it's so hard to see the really big plans that I need a magnifying glass to see all the details.

This book was thicker than I originally thought but happily surprised because I loved looking through all the different plans. It has tons and tons of plans to choose from and such variety.

Who knew that there were that many types of housing plans and great ideas. I didn't find the perfect plan but I have visions of tweaking one or two plans to make the perfect house. Very nice!

For a book of house plans the plans are just too darn small, compared to the pictures.The bigger the house; the smaller the plans.Seriously, 1/8 a page for the largest house in this book. :(I do like some the plans, just wish I could see them easier.I would have given just 2 stars but the book is a good value dollar wise, just $8.50.

I really love this book i will give it five stars it has house plans of all sizes it has a lot of 5 or more bedroom house plans and a lot of three story house plans with 5 or more bedrooms and I love all the color pictures of the rooms of the houses I put yellow, red, and purple sticky notes on all of the house plans I really like and I use the same color paper clips so every 3 or 4 months I end up getting a new book but I don't mind I just love this book so much Amazon customer

We bought this book to scan through and see if we could find a home and plans that work for building a family home. We probably didn't find the right home in here, but I would recommend this book as a way to see lots of styles of homes, view floor plans and dimensions, and overall hone in what type of home you might want to build. The price is small compared to the overall project. While you can go online and scan through hundreds of plans for free, try this book too. Also throughout the book there are some tips interspersed about building and style.
