We guarantee one year but we find it is typically a year and half to two years for most people depending on the usage. The app will automatically detect once your battery is running low, and it will then send you a notification and give you the option to purchase a discounted replacement charm starting at $99 (less than $10/month)

I see it has a battery. Is there a way to charge instead of purchasing a new one? That seems outrageous

Thank you so much for the feedback.  When we were designing the product, most people said that the most important thing to them was the size.  Unfortunately if we had made the battery replaceable, then the charm would have been double the size (close to the size of a half dollar).  The feedback we got is that people wouldn't wear it if it was that big and bulky so we had to design it to be a very compact design that is sweat and weather resistant.  This unfortunately prevents us from allowing people to safely replace the battery without damaging the product.  Many people do love that they don't have to worry about replacing the battery and that they can get a brand new design after the 1-2 years.  We are also looking into designing larger ones in the future that have a replaceable battery so that we can cater to everyone.

What if you go out to the mailbox and your phone is inside will the necklace work

Thanks so much for your interest in invisaWear. The invisaWear charm uses a Bluetooth connection with a paired smartphone that can be up-to 30 feet away. Depending on the phone, the range can be much farther. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

Does it require a subscription? Does the phone app cost anything?

Thanks so much for your message and for your interest in invisaWear!  No monthly fees or subscriptions are required in order for you to be able to use your invisaWear device to notify your emergency contacts and 9-1-1 that you need help.  Please note that message and data rates may apply.  Please also be aware that your invisaWear charm has a battery designed to last at least one year, however we typically see it last about a year and a half to two years for most people.  The app will automatically detect once your battery is low and send you a notification to purchase a replacement charm (just the charms, not the jewelry piece).  Replacement charms are offered at a discount ($99), and you should also have the option to update to any of our new styles at that point you'd like!

There is an optional premium subscription that we highly recommend.  The premium features allow you to rest assured that a trained ADT agent is handling your emergency.  In an emergency, an ADT agent would try to call you to verify you are indeed in danger and to gather any additional information.  The agent will immediately notify 9-1-1 and text your emergency contacts with your up-to-date location.  Video Call has an ADT agent virtually by your side via video.  They’ll send help if needed and provide the video as evidence to authorities if requested.  You can even chat with an ADT agent at any time and set activity tracking timers.  If you’re ever feeling unsafe and want someone to stay with you on the line until you’re safe, an ADT agent can help with that too!  As a premium customer, you also get access to free virtual self defense classes hosted once a quarter.

The Invisawear app is free and downloaded from either the Apple app store or the Google play store.
