Great Lock
Really like the feature that this lock can be keyed to my truck !

Works great but doesn't come with a dust/rain cover for the lock.
I have three bolt locks, two for my receiver hitch, one for my trailer coupler. The locks for the receiver hitch both come with dust and rain covers, the receiver hitch model does not. I don't understand the company's thought process! if the receiver hitch needs a cover to protect it from dust and rain why wouldn't they put one on the trailer coupler?

Not a bad lock, but just a couple of nitpiks!
I bought this for my new PJ 7712 trailer with a bulldog coupler and it fits great. It's a lock for a trailer coupler, so as long as it fits and is secure enough to deter someone from stealing my trailer, it really cannot lose. But any lock is just that, a deterrent. NO LOCK is 100% secure. When I first registered my key, I was surprised at how much resistance there was and how grindy the lock felt, but that was only to set it to my key, after that it's pretty smooth. I was a little worried something was going to break, and the instructions could have simply stated this. But there are a few little gripes I have about this lock that should be addressed to make it so much better.Pros:1. It fits my trailer coupler fine, it's long enough, perhaps too long, but it should fit wider applications anyway.2. Its great having to use just one key for both my truck and the trailer coupler!Cons: (or improvements that could be made!!!)1. The instructions could have a blurb about how hard the lock will be to turn the first time when registering your key. I though something was broke.2. The bent end of the shackle should not be just a bent end! I realize it acts like sort of a pull handle, but it is also easy to get a pipe on that to straighten the thing so it could be pulled right out of the coupler! A "button" style end like some hitch pins are made would be so much more secure!3. There should be a little more effort made to keep water out of the lock, some seals around the pin maybe, a cap over the key hole, even though it is shuttered, it would still let water in. The roll pins on the sides should be sealed or not ever there! If I press those out, does the lock simply fall apart? Also its FULL of white lithium grease and I have to clean my key every time after using it, that tells me something in there is going to rust eventually...4. The shape of the pin could be better, Yes the ridges are there to let the lock work, but they also make a nominally 1/4" diameter pin so much thinner, I wonder if a swift hammer blow to the lock body wouldn't snap the pin instantly. Also, a center milled key version of your hitch pins would be nice for us late model GM guys out here! as it stands I have my truck key for this lock, but two other keys for hitch pins a pad lock that is way more secure than the bolt pad locks on offer. But again, a lock is only going to thwart the casual thief, anyone that's seriously going to steal your trailer will defeat any security measure outside of a armed guard in a flash. You can't fault a coupler lock for that.

Could make 1 change
Works as expected. Would like 1 change though - I can’t lock it without the key opening the lock. Would like to slide the lock on without the key inserted

DON’T BUY USED - LIKE NEW
These are very convenient trailer locks. I used one for years with my Chevy. Bought a Ram and wanted to get one keyed for it. Thought I’d save a few bucks and buy “used - like new”. I was hoping they wouldn’t be foolish enough to send me one that was already keyed for someone else’s vehicle but that’s what happened.THERE IS NO WAY TO RESET THE LOCK. Without getting into social commentary, Amazon shouldn’t sell these used, and more importantly people shouldn’t key them to their truck and then return them. It’s a wasteful, worthless brick once you set it for your key.I did see this coming, I just took the chance because $15 was better than $30. Ultimately I will simply return and buy a new one. Amazon, please don’t sell this used to another person! 🙂

Does what it's supposed to
Works perfectly and easy to set-up. My issue is that the lock cylinder spins freely on the shaft while locked. This is an issue on my trailer because when the lock is secured, the cylinder rests on a portion of the trailer. Any bump will cause the cylinder to bounce up and then slam back down on the trailer. I'm afraid that on a long trip, the lock internals may be damaged and for sure the external housing. If you have a way to secure the cylinder then the lock is great! It works smooth as silk and the shaft is plenty long for any application.

Great lock - I'd buy again and have
This is the second time I've purchased one. The first one went with the 2500 we sold and the new one goes on our hitches for our 3500.Pros:Very easy to keyVery easy to lock and unlockThe black keyed part goes all the way up to the coupler so a saw cannot go in betweenOld one never rusted - doubt this one will eitherCons:It is VERY long and pointy - I recommend sawing off any extra length you don't need.

Great
This will cut down on the number of keys that I carry around and it will always be a key that I have since it is the tow vehicle's ignition key.

Can’t find this anywhere in stores
If you have any other items of this line, it makes for a painless time when you have to lock or unlock a lot of things and only have to use one key.
