These are a perfect solution for a problem I didn't want to admit I had.
These handrails install easily and have a nice finished look. Cleaning them is a breeze. Their size is just right and it's easy to get a good grip with them. Although I've had a handrail in the shower for years which I recognize as a necessity, I scoffed at the idea of smaller handrails in different locations through the house because, let's face it, no one wants to admit things are getting worse not better. Since my husband installed these, I have been amazed at how much more secure and stable I am. It's obvious he has watched over me carefully as I move about the house and recognized those locations where I need extra stability. It's hard sometimes to recognize your own needs as well as those who love you can. These are a perfect solution for a problem I didn't want to admit I had.

Great quality grab rails (1-1/4" diameter)
This are great grab rails. Please note when looking for safety grab rails, there are two basic diameters to choose from; 1-1/4" and 1-1/2".I tried the larger 1-1/2" ones (bought at Home Depot), but I didn't like the larger size for for this particular installation. I was using them next to a ladder climbing into the attic where a good grip is important.Next to a tub or stool, I think the larger 1-1/2" size may be more comfortable for lifting youself up.But next to a ladder where literally, your "grip" keeps you from falling, the smaller diameter size really feels better. And they provide 500lbs loading - same as the 1-1/2".I bought a pair of these 12" long, plus a pair of 18", a 24" and a 42"Note that the length is measured from the center-to-center of each tube where it meets the wall. Extra "blocking" may be needed inside your studded wall for the 3 screws at each end.I had one minor gripe, they just throw these bars (each in it's own plastic bag) into a cardboard box and ship it. I was surprised they were not beat up.As usual, Amazon had the best price and free shipping too. I love that!

Overall it is 15 inches long.
It looks like it will be a worthy addition to our bathroom whenever I get around to actually installing it. However, I thought about returning it as the stated dimensions are incorrect. The overall length of this grab bar is 15 inches; the bar is 12 inches with another 3 inches added by the mounting flanges. I only have 14 inches, vertically, to install this and it won't fit without putting it in at an angle. So, that's what I'll do. It seems that in the product description where a dimension is listed as "51" it should be "15" instead. Sigh.

Excellent product
Strong construction and great length screws provided. Only draw back is sure wish they included a long drill bit for drilling into studs. When putting next to a door the standard drill bit length is short enough that when properly pt in drill ckuck the Chuck will hit the door trim before it drills deep enough for the screws. You'll also need a magnetic bit holder for your drill to install the screws unless you can do so with a screw driver which is difficult in dry studs.

Get a Grip
Although I have hand rails next to everything, the 3' rails next to my shower were too long. Gripping the upper portion of my old rails even with dry hands they tended to slip, landing me on the floor. The solution was to install the 12" rails just purchased. Now I can securely grab on without sliding down. [Caution, make sure you position the rail at the height that you can comfortably "hang" from.] This product arrived on time and is of quality material. Each package was complete with directions and new hardware. The only problem, and this is very minor, I wish I had selected a slightly larger diameter pipe. My large hands do fit, but would be better even with a 1/2" more pipe. This was my fault and not the supplier / manufacturer.

Good looking Grab Bar
This Grab Bar is well made and has well placed mounting holes.....comes in several different lengths to match normal stud placement....the one shown is vertical right next to a door frame....white looks good on the bedroom side, but we used Chrome for the bathroom ones.

Caution re: end caps
I was disappointed to open this, and find that the caps covering the ends were well attached to the bar, and required the used of a blunt instrument to break free. I am a carpenter and resorted to a hammer, fearing that I would only dent these fairly thin rings. Fortunately, they each broke free, using force, but one should know beforehand that such force will be required. Each flange has three "ears" on the outer edge, which apparently hold these covers in place before paint is applied. The paint becomes the real glue that holds them in place, which, to the manufacturer's credit, prevents the covers from sliding around and scratching up the paint on the bar.I would imagine that some folks simply return these as unusable.

Great Item, But Wrong/Ambiguous Description on 30" Bar
I have purchased a number of these Safety First grab bars for bathrooms we are remodeling, and all are well-made and well-priced.HOWEVER, the 30 inch one (Model 8730) is described as "Stainless Steel" when in fact its finish is satin. I ordered it to match other models described as "Bright Stainless Steel," thinking that if it were satin it would say so. But it does not match the "Bright Stainless Steel" and there does not appear to be a "Bright Stainless Steel" version in 30 inches. I'm sending it back to Amazon and ordering the 24 inch version in "Bright Stainless Steel."It's still a good line of grab bars. It's just aggravating to have to go through the return process for this wrongly/ambiguously described item.

Solid & Good Looking
Look no further if you need one of these. I wasted a lot of time in local stores trying to find a good quality white one of these. This is tops for the best price I've seen.
