Computer renders, not real cars.
The format of this book is rather strange. When you first open it you notice that it is actually split into two different volumes. The first volume titled "The History of a Legend" is, as titled, a brief history of Ferrari, both the man and the company. It makes for interesting reading and has quite a few nice historical images included. The second volume is titled "The Legendary Models" and this is where you find the cars, 40 of them. Each car actually gets a 4 page fold out which is rather nice, but makes reading the book a bit awkward. You get a brief history of the car as well as a whole range of technical specifications. My main gripe here is that these aren't photos of actual cars, but rather computer renders of them. If you just glance at them you may not notice, but if you study the cars up close you will be able to tell they aren't real. I suppose that's the price you pay when you make a book covering some of the rarest cars in the world. It would have been difficult to get photos of cars like the Ferrari SP12 EC, a one-off model commissioned by Eric Clapton.
