The pictures aren't as good in this one :-/
I've taught ESL before so at first glance it might not seem like a huge deal; but to a tiny learner which these are geared towards that is ALSO learning their english? This stuff does matter quite a bit!For example the graphics used for things like tall vs short and big vs small are often super difficult to choose. Honestly, I just wouldn't have put them both in the book. Hot vs cold being 2 foods? Kids need to be familiar with those foods and one is coffee lol; the other is ice cream which is fine for US but loads of cultures don't eat it. Slow and fast? Why is 'fast' a frog?! Kids aren't going to associate that.... do you see what I mean? There's also concepts that are just too advanced for what I'd say is a toddler/preschool book (inside/outside and light/heavy and near/far) when the images are the way they are; they're just so challenging to explain in another language while these kids are still very much trying to grasp english or whichever their first language may be. Let's not forget this!

Great Italian-English book covering concepts
The books in the "My First Bilingual Book (English-Italian)" series have colorful, good quality images, sturdy pages, and the size is relatively small. These are great books for households where both parents don't speak Italian, since they provide the word in both Italian and English. The only downside (for the whole series) is that it's not a story book, it's a dictionary/flashcard style book, so it can sometimes be difficult to hold a baby/toddler's attention with this. With the limited Italian bilingual material out there, I would still highly recommend this. The "Opposites-I Contrari" one is particularly well done, in that the pictures, in my opinion, adequately convey the concepts in the words being taught (e.g. showing "far" v. "near" in static pictures), which is more difficult than showing nouns.

love this
I love this book for my 8 month old baby girl - she loves turning the pages and I love reading Italian words to her. I studied Italian in college but an not fluent, so I sit with my google translate and try to narrate the scenes to her - this is a perfect platform for introducing a second language. We have the same book in French and German and she seems to really like it.
