Good looking combo. Retrieving line is smooth. Cork handle very comfortable. Haven’t fished with it yet but I believe it will handle catfish and carp no problem.

I absolutely love using this rod, it is a well-balanced, lightweight, and fun rod to use. I have taken it apart and put it back together, adding additional ball bearings to make it even smoother. I highly recommend to old and new fishermen alike because it keeps you in the game when you don't have to untangle your line every now and then.

As always the 33 is almost impossible to beat for the money. No fuss no tangle just works and casts great reel!

Great little rod and reel combo. I use it exclusively for bream fishing. Well made and casts very well. Sensitivity is very good. The only reason I give it four stars is that I use a slip bobber sometimes. The small about of string I use for the stop will not go into the reel. So if I’m fishing deeper than the length of the rod, I have to use another rod and reel. Besides that, this is a great little combo. I would buy it again. I have a spinning reel for deeper fishing and I always have it in the boat with me.

Bought for my toddler as a first rod. I wanted something that he wouldn’t be limited by, and this was about the perfect find. Casts much further than expected and while he will certainly grow up, I don’t expect he will grow out of this rod and reel. Great quality, good action, and just the right start to get him started on a hobby to last a lifetime. Recommended.

First off I've been using zebco reels my whole life and never had any problems with them. The zebco 33 is always been my go-to for a closed faced reel. I figured since I like the zip code 33 so much that I would try the zebco 33 gold that was my first mistake compared to the regular zebco 33 the gold is nothing but junk even after I respawned it took it apart and cleaned it still did not want to cast more than a few yards. I contacted zebco about it and the lady I talked to was rude and didn't seem to care that they had sold me a piece of junk she offered to replace it if I would pay for shipping which I declined I I'm going to try to return it through Amazon and never buy a zebco gold 33 again please do not waste your money buy the regular zebco 33

A nice light weight rod strong enough to bring in a good size fish. A good value.
