PetStarz Waterfall Drinking Station for Dogs & Cats with Activated Carbon Filter

We ordered this to solve a problem of our cat drinking from the toilets. It has helped considerably. She especially like cool / cold water rather than room temperature,so we have on occasion floated 2 ice cubes in the front part of the station to cool the water down. Some have complained that this is noisy - if it is full of water and the pump is set and the up pipette matched to the flow dispenser all we get is a low hum. If the unit is low on water or the pump isn't fixed (it has 4 suction cup feet), then it will rattle as it pumps.Note: we unplug the power supply at night to let it cool and to avoid any unexpected electrical problems.We have now had the unit for 3 full weeks : it took the cat a week to get used to it. (We shut off access to the toilets so she didn't have a choice.) Now she drinks out of the reservoir and the flow stream which is about 3" wide (if it is running correctly).Would we recommend this? Yes, as we believe it is an excellent value, especially in consideration of the other higher priced products on the market..

A lot of people have complained about the pump being loud, but I found this is actually a design flaw because the pump isn't getting enough water at the max line. I solved this buy raising up the front end by 3/4th of an inch with two little tins. Also found that this fountain wasnt terribly smelly and the filters were a nice design, easy to take out and also easy to clean and maintain. It does not hold as much water as some fountains, but if you are home daily to monitor it, it should be fine.My cats didn't mind it, but it was causing a wet chin, which I've been trying to get away from by trying different fountains.

use it for my cat! Sometimes it can get a little noisy. had to add some shims for the vibration. Have it on the carpeted cat tree, It is quiet when everything is stuck together. Easy to take apart for cleaning! Encourages my cat to drink and has not had bladder infection since we got it. You do need to clean it and keep it full. Makes more noise when low on water or dirty

The cats really like this, and it keeps our more agile cat from drinking out of the fish filter as much. It runs a little loud, which kept our cats from investigating it at first, but we stuck a ~1 inch length of air hose from our aquarium air pump (super super cheap stuff) into the hole under the hood and now it runs COMPLETELY silently.

I bought this because my cat only drinks from the sink and it gets annoying. It works fine but is a bit loud so my cat is wary of it but will occasionally drink out of it.

Some of these reviews you have to take with a grain of salt. The unit is actually very efficent and my cats love to drink from it. At first they were a little shy, but more curious of this new device.Now on to the sound. The sound is no louder than a fish tanks's water pump. I don't see how it could bother someone unless you literally sleep with the device to you ear.

The noise this product makes scared my kittens They would not go near it, not even n the room. To minimize the noise, I had to add water well above the water line. The motor suction cups did not work well. No matter what I did they could not hold the motor in place. Great idea but in need of a redesign. I returned it.

My cats like it. Neat device. It does require daily cleaning, the area where the water pools gets slimy. But, my cats do use it.
