Brilliant idea but fiddly to do. Took them to caravan with us and they did work eventually. Gave us enough privacy when we needed it wink wink lol.

Wont work on all doors, do check before buying.

Bought these after I saw a video on YouTube about how people can bypass the deadlocks on hotel doors, and thought that a bit of extra security couldn't do any harmThey're small enough to just keep in your sponge bag or travel kit and work very well. The last hotel I stayed in there wasn't a deadlock on the door, and I spotted another guest being able to use their card to get in to my room (I don't know whether they were double coded or what) - fortunately I wasn't in it and I hadn't left valuables. But having something to be able to lock my door that couldn't be easily bypassed meant I slept a lot easier that night.Basically you put the metal rectangle in the notch in the door frame where the latch fits in to. Then you close the door and slide the crescent section through one of the slots to hold the door shut. If you want to "unlock" the door you just take out the crescent. They're a bit fiddly to fit, so it's worth practicing at home a couple of times just to get the hang of it before you travel. I got my flat mate to try and get in when I had one of these installed and he didn't manage, so they seem pretty sturdy. I'm sure if someone was really determined to get in to the room with heavy tools or something they probably wouldn't hold up, but to keep the average sneak thief out I'd say they more than do the job.My only suggestion is to replace the cord the crescent is on with something a little more sturdy (I used string), as the one it comes with is a bit thin and I can see it snapping quite easily.But overall a good (and cheap) investment for your travel bag

This works on all door holes. Others don’t do that. It is easy to use and I can’t break open the door when it’s on

I think this will just work for doors that has a strikeplate installed on the right side. But if it is installed on the left side, I don’t think it will be effective. I hope they will improve on the design that goes both ways. It’s easy to install though.

It could lock the door but not in a very tight way and seems quite loose. The thin metal looks will not stay at where it should and the lock will loose after few attempts of abrupt pushes.
